I’ve watched the first episode. Anyone else up for this?

I haven't yet but I definitely want to watch as Tom Sandoval is on it and it was recorded not long after everything happened with Ariana. I don't tend to like the US version as much as the UK, but still watchable.@

TheLilEngineWhoCould · 26/01/2025 08:52

Last one was simply awful and the difference in presenters- facilitating vs making it all about them - made it virtually unwatchable. I’m out!

Mooosewoman · 26/01/2025 14:58

Well I’m definitely in. I was amazed at how different the rowing task panned out. All those entitled men!

Where diff you watch it

Rictasmorticia · 26/01/2025 17:36

i have just watched episode 1 on Iplayer. Hmmm.

Appalonia · 26/01/2025 17:40

I've actually enjoyed the U.S ones, the fact so many of the contestants are unlikable makes it more entertaining, they become more like characters. I'll definitely be watching it!😂

witchycat2 · 26/01/2025 19:14

I've watched the available 5 episodes. They all seem to be 'celebrities'. Did they used to be? I watched the first series I while ago and thought they had some normal people involved

martha4clark · 26/01/2025 19:23

US series 1 was a mix of reality stars and ordinary people, which was a bit strange. Series 2 was all reality stars, but included some 'famous' Brits like Ekin-Su and John Bercow, the ex-speaker.

TitsInAbsentia · 26/01/2025 20:07

Ekin Su was terrible, Bercow less so.

I don't know why they don't just use ordinary people - is it that viewers in the US just wouldn't watch it?

I'll def give this a go. I think if traffic to this thread picks up you may want to put a spoiler warning in the title as it's loaded up in chunks?

E2021 · 26/01/2025 20:58

On episode 5.
The Americans are ruthless 😅

OggyBunsen · 26/01/2025 21:18

I'm surprised to be enjoying the US version more than the most recent UK version. Have no idea who any of them are, but they are weirdly watchable.

I enjoyed the "I trust so and so because we're both Aquarius" - seems peak Californian to me 😄

Stepfordian · 26/01/2025 21:38

There’s so much Botox and fillers amongst them I found it really distracting! And why does Alan Cumming sound like a non-Scot doing a terrible impersonation of a Scottish accent? I can understand slowing his voice down a bit or enunciating clearly, but he sounds like a parody of himself!

Stowickthevast · 27/01/2025 17:52

I've just watched the first 5. I quite like the way they're far more ruthless straight out of the gate and there's no whining if someone accuses you of being a traitor. They're also far more tactical about alliances and whose voting for who. Cliques are just expected. So although they're all botoxed to within a inch of their lives, in a way they're more genuine. That said I am getting a few of the "bambi" girls mixed up.

I've also watched quite a bit of Survivor and really don't like Boston Rob. It's interesting to see which tasks are the same and which they've changed.

martha4clark · 27/01/2025 18:19

It's the outfits for me! The women are dressed to the nines; and the amount of cleavage on show is really brave for the north of Scotland and a draughty old castle.

Thisisthewayz · 27/01/2025 20:22

Yes!! Count me in please!!
I’ve watched all 5 episodes now, & can’t wait for 6 to come out! Is it only 1 a week being released here?
I’m obsessed with Traitors & had already watched all the American/Australian/New Zealand so far. I do find it takes a couple of episodes to warm to the characters, but so interesting to see how different counties do the programme.
So far I think they’re rubbish at the tasks compared to the uk contestants!! I don’t want to put too much detail down in case other people haven’t watched all 5 episodes yet. Some of the contestants are so dramatic though!! And breakfast is more like a fashion contest! 😂I’m liking the different twists so far.

Mooosewoman · 28/01/2025 09:57

Yes they are terrible at the tasks. They are too busy being dramatic!

Appalonia · 28/01/2025 19:56

Just started it tonight. LOVE how camp and dramatic Alan Cummings is!😂

Appalonia · 28/01/2025 20:00

I wish they would just unleash all these fake Americans into the wilds of Scotland and see how they'd survive!!😂

Appalonia · 28/01/2025 20:28

I'm remembering why I enjoyed the U.S. Traitors before. It's because a lot of them already know each other, either by reputation or from being on a show with them. So they're much less naive and more cutthroat that the UK version, they're not here to make friends, they're here to WIN!!

Appalonia · 28/01/2025 20:34

I just KNEW they'd choose the guy with the blue feather boa!

The way he says "Dollaaarrrrrrsss" kills me!

Appalonia · 28/01/2025 20:45

It's so interesting seeing them doing the same challenge as the Brits...

Appalonia · 28/01/2025 21:44

Their deduction skills are even worse than the Brits. " I trust X so much, they're an Aquarius too".. 😂😂😂

snowsjoke · 28/01/2025 21:47

Tom Sandoval is so weird.
There's a lot of confident guys on this one.

ViolinsPlayGentlyOn · 28/01/2025 23:40

I wish the challenge in the church had appeared on the UK version - mind you, I don’t know how some of the UK cast would have got on with that one!

I preferred the US version of the cages as well.

But I’m not liking all the overconfident men. And the bloke who keeps staring is really creepy.
