What a final!

Absolutely great final all round - 4 great role models as competitors and really high standard, with close eliminators. Loved it!

Just a small thing - I thought the change of rules in The Wall was a bit unfair. I think Mus would have got the 10 points in the normal game which could have affected the outcome.

purpleme12 · 12/04/2025 21:47

They must have done it cos Legend thought Mus would win didn't he!

We said the same. He made up ground on Joe but I think it would have been an even closer eliminator if they had done a standard game of the wall

MumGuilt101 · 12/04/2025 22:09

Surely Mus actually set the record, even though he came second..?

Rosienose · 12/04/2025 22:30

Did anyone else notice the absolute lack of interaction between Amanda and Aneela? Neither commiserated or congratulated the other which you usually always see at the end.

Do you think they get to practice the events before the show? Like is that the very first time they've tried the eliminator etc?

I know I'm late to this thread but Rob Beckett talked about the prep he did for the celebrity special in his podcast. He said they get the practice all the events first so I assume it's the same for the non celebrities.

He said he was shocked how high the podium is for duel (so high he had a panic attack) plus didn't like that they aren't harnessed in for the zip line in the eliminator ( so they were for the celeb version ).

mindingmyown37 · 12/04/2025 22:46

I’m so glad Amanda won, she was our winner from the heats, I also don’t care to much for aneila, she came across super cocky and you could tell by her face she was pissed she lost to Amanda again. She was there on a technicality, she seems to have skimmed her way through on luck..IMO anyway. Didn’t mind which lad won, we liked both.

purpleme12 · 12/04/2025 22:47

I liked Aneila

I noticed she didn't congratulate zavier last week either, but not all the male contestants did either

HateThese4Leggedbeasts · 12/04/2025 23:48

I like Aneela and she performed well. As Amanda won all of her past heats, she feels a more satisfying winner though.

I would have been happy if either Joe or Mus won.

I didn’t spot that, but I think you’re right. That could have made all the difference.

I liked Amelia, I generally like all the contestants, but she just wasn't strong enough, every eliminator she did she could barely get up the rope

memoriesofamiga · 13/04/2025 19:17

Mus was cheated by the change of rules on the wall. Just to feed Legend's ego. Pretty sure he beat the eliminator record aswell but that wasn't mentioned

I can only assume it was agreed beforehand...

It's the BBC and a competition... they're super strict about everything

100%. There's no way Legend "just changed the rules" during filming. It'll have been planned, risk assessed, discussed with the contestants, scripted. Mus will have agreed to do it way before filming.

It was very obvious it was scripted

memoriesofamiga · 14/04/2025 10:52

Oh it was definitely scripted. Doesn't make the outcome right though.

ithinkicanithinkican · 14/04/2025 13:09

I was quite surprised/impressed by Legend’s turn of speed up the wall though!

Ehhh, he got 5 points Vs 10, hardly a huge swing, if he hadn't slipped near the beginning he probably would have won. They agreed to it. At the end of the day, they won a trophy, it's not like £50k was on the line... can't get worked up about it tbh.

Mus would have won in a straight head to head, but that's not how the game works 🤷‍♀️

I'm glad Aliena didn't win with all her moaning 😂

fanaticalfairy · 14/04/2025 18:38

Mus would have won the Eliminator ina straight head to head, that is.

Did he get 5 points? I missed that but even so that’s 2.5 seconds and I’m not sure Joey won by much more than that

Yes, because he got up in 20 seconds. It's the same points if he'd managed to come in second place against Joe.

Thought it was 10 if they beat the gladiator, and zero if they didn't? Fairly confident Mus got nothing. Those 5 seconds if he HAD come second (and he could have beaten Joe up the wall and got the full 10) would have meant him winning the eliminator.
