Another good episode. I found it really disappointing that Andy did the trash talk against Giant though. He will get hammered by the gladiators in his quarter final for that.

My daughter is like the encyclopedia of gladiators knowledge and sits and tells us all how many time a gladiator has done a certain event. Bless her. I am really hoping we can get tickets for S3 filming this summer.

I have been trying to read as much as possible on how to get tickets, and what you have to do when you get there as well. It's a long 5-6 hour drive for us so don't want to get there and not get in!

Yes, I was surprised for that. I had assumed those bits were all more or less scripted, but that seemed a bit below the belt and was surprising.

The Gladiators are actually really supportive of the contestants, and yes Legend and Vioer have their panto acts, but in reality they too are supportive so it felt off to trash talk an injured Gladiator. When contestants have been injured the Gladiators have been the first ones showing concern and have stopped events to get help.

@LuckysDadsHat Yes, that's what I mean. It's all usually a bit panto but very tame, and I assumed scripted, as it's always the same vibe and tone.

I felt Andy's comment was below the belt and was surprised, as it obviously was not scripted as the tone of wasn't right. I think he probably thought it sounded funny in his head and it just came across wrong.

The Gladiators looked surprised and I don't blame them.

I think it was probably just a stupid comment that he now regrets.

I thought Andy had quite a dead pan sense of humour and it was meant to be a joke about how he’s so tough that he broke Giant, which is obviously not the case given Giant’s size. Clearly it landed badly, but I did wonder if he was sending himself up throughout as he made a few random comments. That comment about being an ex para whereas Finlay was an army officer and he would show us the difference - surely that was lighthearted?

Yes, I think he intended it to be lighthearted. I think he has just misjudged a few of his comments.

I'd imagine he probably regrets it now.
