I think this last episode was filmed very differently from previous ones. Maybe to create the atmosphere for the moment when it became clear she was leaving. Although it was obvious she wouldn't take a promotion.
Who was the actress playing her boss. I just cant remember her name.
I thought it was a nice touch having Kevin Whately turn up as an unprincipled police man in contrast to Lewis.
Not sure as a crime plot line it worked that well, but as others have said far too many characters!
I think early Joe was more respectful and understanding of Vera, but when he re-appeared he just seemed to be rude and sullen all the time. Not sure if that wasn't done more for Vera to pull off yet another clever intervention and get him back on the straight and narrow or ... !
I think overall the series has survived well for however many years it is.
And glad Brenda Blethyn got to decide how and when it would stop.
When I get to her age if I can still haul myself in and out of the landrover or whatever it is, I will be thrilled.
Did Anne Cleves write the book in anticipation of it being the end of the tv series?
I thought I would be really cheesy and watch the documentary to night about Vera. I expect it will be rubbish, but might be a nice escape down memory lane.
