The programme is very cleverly edited. It's not always clear at the time what the outcome is going to be, but when you look back at it knowing the result it becomes very clear what they want us to think... The contestants do look very nasty and there have been many clips of nastiness towards Sara and Lucinda, but it does make me wonder what the editors are missing out.

I disliked Raef at first, but he is currently my favourite. God help UK business though if this lot truly were the best of 20,000 applicants.

Bobbiewickham · 01/05/2008 12:55

God, what's Lee on?

I was just starting to fancy him a bit, as well. Then he went all twisted and demonic.

Feel quite cheated.

(And sorry for Sara as well, obv).

RTKangaMummy · 01/05/2008 12:57

I did nt like raef either at beginning

but now I laugh at him

not that i think he is a good businessman but i find him funny to watch and listen to

No, I don't think he's a good businessman either - although I do think he's probably the best of a bad lot. Most of the others think that the secret to being a good manager is who can shout the loudest and be the most scathing to their team members .

The best outcome would be that Sir Alan just decides they are all crap and fires the lot of them.

spokette · 01/05/2008 13:03

I have watched all four series of The Aprentice and this lot are the most vile, calculating, backstabbing piranhas ever to grace the programme. The only ones with any grace and dignity are Raef and Lucinda. Only they deserve to be in the final.

I find Sara condenscending but she did not deserve to be torn at like fresh cadaver. I was starting to rate Lee but not anymore - his twisted features whilst he spewed vituperative bile towards Sara was terrifying. No doubt Lucinda will be having second thoughts about their nascent mutual appreciation of each other.

Both DH and I were guffawing at the apostrophe crisis. Both Michael and Raef have been educated at posh private schools but could not fathom out a simple grammatical problem like that whereas comprehensive educated DH and I knew the answer right away. Hee-hee

RTKangaMummy · 01/05/2008 13:03

That would be funny

Totally agree Spokette. Three effing hours on an apostrophe !!

FFS!

It could have been sorted out in 30 seconds had they got on t'internet. It is truly astonishing that anyone's first thought when confronted with this "problem" was to call the editing section of the Daily Telegraph. And even more astonishing that amongst six "business people" (I use the term lightly) not one possessed that basic grammatical knowledge.

catsmother · 01/05/2008 13:08

That was my spoiler Vacantly ...... I'm pretty sure it was in the Sunday Mirror last weekend ..... so can't claim it to be gospel truth !!

chopchopbusybusy · 01/05/2008 13:14

Is there some sort of rule about them not being able to refer to the internet?(bloody stupid idea if there is) I seem to remember in the last series one team taking half a day to find nigella seeds because they didn't know what they were.

catsmother · 01/05/2008 13:21

That would be ridiculous if that were true ChopChop. Show me any business these days which doesn't use the internet in some capacity. I remember the Nigella seeds thing though from what I can recall they were out and about on the road. Last night, they were in the design studio weren't they, working on computer-aided designs and where there would have been immediate access.

It'd be interesting to have that confirmed.

chopchopbusybusy · 01/05/2008 13:26

But even if they were out and about - they must have passed an internet cafe at some point - surely. Or been able to use their mobile phones.

QueenMeabhOfConnaught · 01/05/2008 13:35

What schools did Raef and Michael go to? Just so we all know to avoid them!!!

Kimi · 01/05/2008 14:00

Felt sorry for Sara as she was under attack from everyone.

Glad Kevin went, But I really really want to slap Clair with a frying pan

UnquietDad · 01/05/2008 14:04

Who suggested first day at school cards? That's quite inspired. In fact, so inspired that I think it must have been done!

Iklboo · 01/05/2008 14:05

I had an extremely rude & non-pc idea I couldn't possibly repeat on mumsnet (but it made Dh laugh)

CatIsSleepy · 01/05/2008 14:13

UQD my dh and cyteen's dh both independently came up with first day of school cards....which also leads me to suspect they must exist already!
do they?!
and if not should I have kept my big mouth shut and tried to go and flog his idea to someone? hmm....

RTKangaMummy · 01/05/2008 14:15

NEW SCHOOL HAS ALRAEADY BNEEN DONE

But the apostrophe depends on what they were meaning so they could've got away with either - national singles day (day for singles) or national singles' day (day of singles).

Or am I confused too?
