To answer ML's question from the last thread, it seems that there is a fair gap between most of the series being filmed, and the winner being picked/announced. In the meantime, both of the finalists work for Sir Alan, so he actually has a much better idea of what they are like by the time he decides than we are lead to believe. The two finalists are currently working for him, but I declined the offer to be told who they are.

MS could have posted the question on the pedant topic here. He would have had an answer in 5 mins flat!

I didn't like Raef at first, he was very nice to Sara in last nights' show.

well there are no apostrophes on Mothers Day or fathers day cards.....

Ans WE thought of 1st day at school cards first unquietdad - no niking OUR ideas!!!lol

Slouchy · 01/05/2008 21:14

Gah!
The day was to celebrate singledom - i.e. all single folk, not just one.
Therefore the apostrophe goes after the pluralised word - HAPPY SINGLES' DAY.
Not hard. (ex-english teacher here )

Slouchy · 01/05/2008 21:14

I'd have done congrats on your pg cards - to be given after the 12 week scan.

VanillaPumpkin · 01/05/2008 21:21

I hated Raef in the first episode but I think he is great now . Him and Lucinda .

WideWebWitch · 01/05/2008 21:22

The question about when is Apprentice filmed. Who remembers from the old series when they were selling fruit down a market. I don't know when it was aired (I'm sure the date would be available on the internet) but I do know it was filmed in October.

UnquietDad · 02/05/2008 00:54

Not nicking ideas, honest! Credit where it's due!!

I think Mother's/Mothers' and Father's/Fathers' day cards vary somewhat according to company.

I always have to get my mother a "Mothering Sunday" card anyway or she Disapproves.

UnquietDad · 02/05/2008 14:37

Do they do Brownie/Cub related cards?

There is no-one I want to win. If Claire or Lucinda get their acts together, they'd be my favourites (Claire cos she does have some really positive points, Lucinda cos she's the underdog). Raef - well he's pretty good but can't help thinking he's had every opportunity to succeed before now. Lee was my fave but he blew it with his nasty outbreak last week. Very odd series this one. Passed Nick in the street in London a while back, took every inch of self-restraint not to stop him and ask about the show!!!

taipo · 06/05/2008 10:55

I'm way behind everyone on this, having just watched ep 6 which some kind soul put up on youtube (iplayer doesn't work if you live abroad - thanks a lot BBC).

I loved the bit where Ginger McChinny made that kid cry in the park. I bet he's still having nightmares.

Save the planet cards has got to go down as one of the worst ideas yet but you have to admire Jenny for being so full of child-like enthusiasm (like when she was talking about persuading Kev to give up his Porsche) for her crap idea.

I was a big fan of Simon before he got fired. Now it's got to be Raef to win!

taipo · 07/05/2008 16:23

I've also been watching the first few episodes of series one (how sad is that?). I originally only saw the second half of that series so it's quite interesting to see the characters early on. I remember Paul and Saira as being very gobby and annoying but they are really both very good. Tim makes a good impression straight away.
