Sad to see Jack has had to retire. Not really surprising, he must be knackered after those
long matches.

And it's about 34 degrees aswell. I couldn't sit in that heat, let alone play tennis

Sascha has just won and there aren't any matches left in play to watch except Djok- and I lasted
2 seconds of him conducting the crowd and smirking that was more than enough.

It's a shame for Jack - he's had a good run though as he was injured before the tournament and couldn't really prepare properly

There are some good matches tonight/tomorrow but most of them are in the middle of the night (uk time)

I wonder if Djok/Alcaraz will get the night slot? Hoping that Carlos can do the job and get rid of Djok

DS2 is back from Oz today - he made the mistake of flying back in shorts - it was very chilly for him at Manchester airport this morning

I'm really annoyed the Holger /Jannik match is overnight. I was looking forward to that one.

The schedule seems a bit light, considering it's the first Monday of the second week. I know they have more courts/ a roof/ and started last Sunday but it still feels like there are matches missing.

What’s the beef between Jim Courier and Novak? I know he’s the GOAT* but if I was in the crowd I’d have wanted to see/hear an interview.

@PeggyMitchellsCameo couldn't bring myself to watch much of the match, but apparently Djok's snub of Courier was in protest against Australian media comments towards Serbian fans in other matches. That only came to light after the fact though- at the time Courier and everyone in the studio were a bit in the dark (but thought the crowds were getting under Djok's skin a bit- and let's face it, it doesn't take much to offend him).

Djok's beef is, from further reading, with a presenter for the broadcaster Channel 9, Tony Jones. He's the one who has made' insulting abnd offensive comments' , and Djok will continue to refuse to do interviews (on-court ones aren't compulsory, like the press conferences) until he gets an apology- even if he is fined. According to an article in the Express.

As everyone knows I'm no Novak fan but what the hell got into that reporter? It's not very professional!

No, it's not professional Jane, and (grudgingly) I do agree that this time, he has every right to be annoyed.

Would Tony Jones have said it to Djokovic's face? Doubt it somehow. The fans who paid good money to go and see him didn't deserve that treatment from him even if I question their taste in tennis players
