Stan has lost to Lorenzo Sonego

I was a bit torn on that one, Ice. Always like to see Stan win - but would have liked Lorenzo to get further.

I know Raahh, but I feel like it might be Stan’s last year on tour, so I wanted him to win here. I saw Lorenzo in Auckland, he won a very close and entertaining match against Gabriel Diallo. It was on one of the smaller courts and we were super close to the players, it was great.

I’m watching Andrey against Joao Fonseca, it’s the first time I’ve seen him and he’s very impressive.

Fonseca is another one of the very young ones who seems really good. It's hard to get my head around the fact he is younger than Dd1 . (only by a few days, but still...).

Looked a bit like Botic might level the match- but he threw away his break point chances.

Andrey was meditating at the sit down which seems a positive development.

Shapo is the reason I’m reluctant to hype young players too much. He was so good when he came on the scene and he hasn’t developed his game at all.

All that said, Joao seems really good.
Andrey is barely clinging on. If he can somehow take it to a fourth set it might get more interesting given his opponent has no experience in the best of 5
format. I feel like Joao’s celebrations could become obnoxious once he’s no longer the underdog, which on this evidence could be pretty soon.
