Oh God I hope so Grin

I read an interview he said she pretty much is Grin

“If something doesn’t go her way, then she throws a toy in anger or bites it. My wife is looking at me saying, ‘Okay, where does it come from?’ And that’s pretty funny because you start asking yourself if it’s just pure genetics and I don’t have an answer to this question,” he says with a smile.

Like father, like daughter then Grin

Raahh · 08/01/2025 13:55

(Not seen Daniil bite anyone though- yet ).

Fizzywinegum · 08/01/2025 14:25

Grin Yes she's got the same mischievous look as her Dad

JaneJeffer · 09/01/2025 14:55

Djok drew Nishesh Basavareddy. Of course he did.

Pfft. Typical.

I really can't be doing with the whole Djok show, and because of Murray's involvement , we will hear of nobody else, probably.

I DON'T CARE.

Raahh · 09/01/2025 15:05

One thing I have noticed it there are a lot of US players in the draws for the recent tournaments. Looking at the Adelaide draw, it's large percentage of US players.

JaneJeffer · 09/01/2025 15:21

That's interesting. I suppose it's down to the college tennis program which means they don't have the expenses that other young people do except for the billionaire kids of course Grin

OP posts:
Raahh · 09/01/2025 15:24

Yes, it helps when you have billions in the bank Grin.

JaneJeffer · 09/01/2025 15:29

Just a bit Grin

My grammar was terrible in that post Grin

Raahh · 09/01/2025 16:14

Oh, FFS, it's started already. I read the other day how Djok was apparently saying he 'scared ' of travelling to Australia since he was banned from playing (despite the face he's been back in the years since and never mentioned it).
Now he's claiming his food was poisoned whilst he was in the quarantine hotel. With lead and mercury.

Hmm
JaneJeffer · 09/01/2025 16:19

I'm watching the Adelaide final- 1 set all between Korda and FelixAA. Felix just got the break in the 3rd.

Good win for Gael in Auckland- he's the oldest winner of an ATP title.

AO starts tomorrow. The first day schedule is not very exciting, really, at first glance Casper is playing, but at 2am (UK time). He doesn't have much success in Australia-though better than Wimbledon- but he's playing Munar, so hopefully will get at least one win under his belt. Think he made the 3rd round last year.

I hope AO isnt overshadowed by drugs allegations and too much discussion of that in press conferences. Jannik is still being asked questions about it. And Kyrgios can button it. He really is going after Jannik- funny how no-one was ever allowed to ask questions about his domestic abuse case, the way he is constantly discussing the doping allegations of others.
And I know which offence I find worse.

Raahh · 11/01/2025 10:26

Well done Felix.

Didn't realise this was his first outdoors tournament win. I feel like he's been around forever- and he's still only 24 Grin.

Raahh · 11/01/2025 10:33

The trophies are interesting- big wooden snakes.

It's a good thing Felix doesn't have to fit that in his hand luggage.

JaneJeffer · 11/01/2025 10:52

Gael got all sorts of bits and bobs for winning including a wooden spear. I watched some of it because I had fallen asleep earlier and then woke back up. My sleeping pattern has gone to hell which is handy when it comes to the AO Grin

Kyrgios needs to put a sock in it.

OP posts:
Raahh · 11/01/2025 11:57

Yes, I find my erratic sleeping is useful for overnight tennis watching Grin.

I missed what Gael won- that sounds fun!

I feel like I have so much to do- but really can't be bothered- it all involves moving snow, or defrosting cars, and I hate snow. I never understand people who get excited by the prospect of snow. In my experience, it just causes trouble Grin. And ice is a menace, and slush is just grim.

I don't care how pretty it looks Grin. <grumpy>.

The dog was fascinated by the kids sledging down the hill near us yesterday. But he isn't a fan of weather- of any kind Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 11/01/2025 18:07

Can't believe that the AO is
starting tomorrow - oh dear hope that Kyrgios's injuries sort themselves out Hmm

My mate from Rafa's tournament Gigante is playing Hugo Humbert tomorrow but other than thst not much exciting seems to be happening

I'm currently stuck waiting for a delayed train at Manchester Piccadilly- any chance of a stopover Raahh? Grin

Your chances of getting here from Piccadilly are even less than of you getting home , probably Grin. Stupid weather. I'll send the dog , with a sled Grin.

Gigante is a fabulous name.

I am quite disappointed by the first day's play- all the good stuff seems to be happening Tuesday.

ChessieFL · 11/01/2025 18:17

I don’t usually wake up during the night but I do tend to wake up early (5.30 - 6ish usually) which is also good for things like AO! Looking forward to getting back into the tennis again.

Fizzywinegum · 11/01/2025 18:29

I'll let you know Raahh - public transport!

GrinGood luck!

This week the new buses started running- and I was really worried because DD1 had uni exams 2 mornings this week. It can take over an hour at rush hour even when it's not been snowing. Fortunately, she wasn't too affected, and got into town ok- but I was ready to pay for taxis.

Fizzywinegum · 11/01/2025 20:11

Thanks Raahh - public transport is ok when it works - we're back home now - DH says he's never getting a train again Grin

We've still got a lot of snow and ice - looking forward to seeing some sun at the AO

Our snow does not want to melt. I hate snow I have mentioned this already.
