Has anyone watch the new series on Prime?

I’ve just binge watched it and loved it. I’m a big fan of the Alex Cross books and found the casting for this series perfect.

I watched Along Came a Spider and Kiss the girls long before I started reading the books. I enjoyed them and like Morgan Freeman as an actor but after reading the books couldn’t get past the fact he was nothing like the books character. The Tyler Perry movie was awful and terrible casting.

I also enjoyed the fact Alex’s family were far more inclusive in the series too, they were just how I imagined them.

Anyone else a fan of the books watched the new series?

I'm still ploughing through it, one more episode and I agree that it is flat, there's no real tension or surprise, it feels predictable and we are just waiting for the inevitable ending.

restricting myself to one episode a week...
I love it!

the villain is especially good (and quite unexpected).

And a nice bum!

Still watching,Still haven't finished.
It does seem to drag on a bit
Some events were very predictable(trying not to spoiler)
I also didn't really like Elle, Kayla was better for a love interest

I finished it. Wasn't as good in the end as its promising start.

I will say though, that Sampson grew and grew on me. I would happily watch a programme with him as the protagonist.

I did like the musical number at the end! That made me smile when that kicked off.

I've finished it, I actually had 3 episodes left when I thought I had one. It could have been 6 episodes though and it was all rather predictable. I could easily have stopped watching half way through. The build up seemed to take ages and then suddenly that bit was wrapped up in a couple of minutes.

I couldn't work out how they were going to get away with their plan to punish the baddie. Being deliberately vague 😀
It would require a massive conspiracy.

Is anyone having a problem with it being so dark (not dark as in horror, dark as in light/dark). (just seen some of you agree!)
I really want to watch it but it's like dim and I cant tell who is who. Even in daylight scenes it's really dim.
I've given up on it because of this, I googled it, seems like a lot of people are saying the same.

yes!
I hate it.
same also for will trent. everything is so dark. I was checking the setting on the tv.

I have it for this show and criminal minds.

Not for Will Trent.

FridayNight1975 · 30/11/2024 10:01

Many people on Reddit have also complained about it being dark. I watched it on my iPad and don’t remember it bothering me.

I skipped most of the family scenes,
especially the singing & piano ones.

don’t know if this happened to others, but I pressed exit at the beginning of the credits and only found out later that there’s an extra scene after them.

I liked the killer on this role, I think it was a great choice by the actor after being so likeable (imo) on New Amsterdam.

Watched the old movie Kiss the Girls with Morgan Freeman as Alex Cross. Yes he is my perfect Alex Cross!

mondaytosunday · 30/11/2024 11:04

I can't bear the Alex Cross books - I think they are badly written (I feel the same about Lynda la Plante books), but love the adaptations. The Cross series is on my 'to watch' list.
