The product placement in the second series got right on my nerves and took me out of the show. Adam Brody will always have a place in my heart but it wasn’t a great second series.

I wish she would stop with the Botox

I watched mins of the first ep in the second season and thought nah its not doing it for me at all. The first one was great but they should have left it at that.

I’ve watched all of season two and found it a bit repetitive and lacking in new ideas.

Ha, yes, we got to the end and DH said “So…exactly like the first series?” Shame as the characters have potential but the plot was non-existent.

Trying to write without spoilers. I binge watched the whole thing. Love seeing around the chichi bits of LA. Agree that although I was excited it was back, that it didn’t progress anywhere plot-wise. Morgan the sister dumping that guy was unrealistic and his reaction was ludicrous. The guy was a totally one dimensional joke character which made her reaction and the time spent on the plot line seem overly detailed and not relatable. I liked that this series was going inside her relationships more though. More of that.

I thought all the ‘I’m feeling overheated’ comments from Joanne would culminate in a menopausal realisation and some emotional reaction about wasting time and future kids. Maybe they could explore that in another series. I thought they would at least somehow mention the situation in Gaza because people in LA synagogues would be talking about it. It’s supposed to be the present day.
Likewise the need to move way out of town due to rent costs would be relatable. And how did Morgan afford the huge event? I thought they were starting off down a realistic recovery of normal concerns when Joanne said she didn’t have loads of time to waste in the relationship which could have been the whole focus of the series, but it went nowhere.

I think they should do another series and just make it about the sister’s 40 something lives and friendships, family and relationships and their podcast, I would totally watch that. All while negotiating a long term friendship if at all possible with Little Noah and his family because they are great characters.

The stand out best moment of this second series was the gig that Noah gets (a great highlight if you know the actor’s biogs). The momfluencer is such a great funny clever actress. She played her character brilliantly and the writing was so funny. I loved that she stuck up for her work too. Noah’s throwaway comment about his type was a great little nod to the fans.

I thought the product placement was absolutely gross and agree that doing it on a big budget production is so absolutely grabby of the makers and it totally breaks the dramatic illusion. I’m stilll working out how I would rate this second series out of 10.

Was looking forward to second series but v disappointed. Agree the similarities with SitC. Is the podcast exceptionally successful. Everyone seemed to live in spectacular houses given their (lack of) jobs. Or is this an LA thing? The question about the move premiere annoyed me. He goes to bars on Friday night. How can he suddenly say that shabbat is sacred for him?

I'm halfway through. From the snippets they showed before I thought it wasn't going to be as enjoyable, but I think it's carried on in the same vein as the first series so far.

It’s strange because I never even noticed! I’m half way through. I’m annoyed as I was saving it up to binge on Saturday night but it just hasn’t grabbed me.

This. It is just a rehash of the first series.

I hadn't realised Kristen Bell was near my age I think she looks amazing. Still binged watched it all but not as good as the first series.

I liked it still not as much as the first series..was more invested in all the other characters!! Love the Mum and gay Dad they make me laugh!

Kristen Bell has had loads of work done it’s distracting. He would never have gone for her by now.

I agree, I like how she plays the character but looks-wise something doesn't ring true. I've just googled and they're both 45 which surprised me, I thought she would be older than Adam Brody. Really the characters are probably meant to be about ten years younger for the lifestyle and all the kids chat to make sense.

I had low expectations for season 2 but was pleasantly surprised. I don't agree it was the same story, season 1 was more romance, lust, we shouldn't be together (forbidden fruit) but oh we really like each other. Season 2 was more him grappling with his life vs his faith, god we actually shouldn't be together (genuine life complexities) but we are, what do we do?

Dr Andy paid for the big event, they said something about him having a lot of money. I really disliked that storyline, it would have been fine for an episode or 2 then break up but it was inappropriate and uncomfortable and it really didn't make sense for Morgan to pursue it for so long.

I don't think the Leighton Meester cameo was much of an easter egg. Not for people around my age anyway, we grew up with The OC and Gossip Girl.

I really like the Sasha/Morgan dynamic, and Esther's character development has been great. Not enough Bina this season though.
