SCD 2024: The One With All the Videos 🪩

Here’s a thread for all the videos we want to share during SCD 2024. Use it to post your favourite past performances or just any dance videos you want to share.

We use this thread so that a) the videos don’t get lost and b) so that we don’t make the discussion threads run slow for those on the app.

I’ll start off with my traditional shares!

I remember they did for Halloween week in 2016, but haven't seen it since.

They still do group dances with the celebs for Blackpool.

Katya's quick dress change.

She also did the Cinderella rags-to-riches in her Cinderella showdance with Joe. Love a Quick Change, I do!

How does that dress change actually work?

Invisible threads/hooks or magnets to drop them down over the other. Katya's didn't quite fall as it should have yesterday but it's a gimmick she's used on a few occasions. I've also seen it used in a skating number (rise like a phoenix, it was awesome) but I'm a sucker for quick change having fallen for it, seeing it on talent shows.

Thanks re dress explanation also - I'd not seen last night's when I asked the question as in the dance with Neil it looked amazing & I'd no idea how it was done. However when watching last night's show, it was obvious!

I was referring to Mark Ballas's routine.

I think quick change is really cool.

So that's where the styling and gloves were from then! It leaves me cold tbh.

I really didn't like Sarah's dance, and having seen this video, I can see why Vito described it as quirky, but I don't think Sarah did it very well anyway. Craig was right, they were very "economical" with the choreography. The gloves on Sarah were far too big so that was off putting as well! No idea how she got 10s for that dance.

Not really a Fosse fan anyway, so it just didn't hit the right notes with me.
