Marin Cilic (who i was starting to think had disappeared/quietly retired) has made the final in Hangzhgu tomorrow in China- plays Zhang (who was in an all Chinese semi final).

Cilic was at the Rafa open in Mallorca but he had already lost before I got there - it looked as if he had a nice time though and walked on court with his son - I like Marin - he gets forgotten about but won a slam in the Big3/4 era

I have always been a big fan of Marin, he does get overlooked.

I've been out, but Marin won his final- a very close match where both sets went to tie breaks- but a win in a win, so he will be very pleased with that no doubt .It makes him the lowest ranked champion in ATP tour history, apparently.

I have yet to see what the trophy looked like .

Yes, just reading the match report now. Well done Marin. He started the week ranked 777 and hadn't won a tour level match in 22 months before this tournament. And it's his 36th birthday at the end of the week!

It looks as if Rafa might play for Spain in the Davis Cup? If he does I think it could be a good way for him to bow out of tennis?

Looks like Joe and Rajeev have split after 6 years playing together.

kazza I think the writing has been on the wall for a while for Joe and Rajeev- I've a feeling had they not turned things around at the end of last year, they may have split sooner. It is a real shame even though doubles pairings do chop and change all the time. In doubles terms, Joe is relatively young, I hope he can find another decent partner.

Fingers crossed Rafa is able to play at least one match in Malaga- it might end up being his swan song, and given how many Davis Cups he has been a part of, it would probably be fitting - to end things on home soil.

But this is Rafa , so who knows what he wil decide to do

So Joe and Neal are teaming up at the start of next year. Let's hope they gel and things start to look up for them again.
Cash and Glasspool seem to be playing together at the moment but don't know if that's permanent.

I saw earlier that Jannik lost the first set in his match, but went on to win the next 2. I'm currently watching Casper and Jordan Porntache- looks like it may be going to a tie break in the first. Casper really could do with a good run this week.
