I mean, it’s a weird rule that the sanction is based on whether it hits someone or not, rather than the decision to throw a racquet in anger.

I think he will have got sanctioned/fined in the same way as he would have had he smashed it into the floor. He probably went to smash it- and it bounced (it wouldn't have done outdoors).

They seem to be wondering is if he ought to be sanctioned for something that might have happened. And you can't really do that.

And it's rich of players like Kokk and Big Foe really to say anything- they are not shy about stropping.

I think someone needs to remind Foe this is essentially an exhibition. And Kokk acting like he’s never seen worse behaviour when his best mate is Nick Kyrgios.

Good point- although I think they do still play the rest of the day (from what I can make out of the rules ) if one team has already pretty much won early on. They are just 'dead' rubbers.

Ok- so having read the rules properlt -

apparently, if only one match is played on the Sunday, they play an exhibition match after the trophy ceremony.

But yes, the fans would be a bit short changed, and not really know how long they would be there.
