Pleased for Jannik, and while I am also pleased that the final didn’t go on for hours so I can go to sleep now without missing it, it was a bit disappointing as a final.

Funny old day today- no tennis to wait for , and no Paralympics on either.
Doesn't mean I've done anything useful though .

All I've done is make a worse mess than I started out with.

I feel like Tommy Paul’s gf has created a weird trend of girlfriends posing with trophies. At least Anna is a tennis player not an influencer.

And she's not holding the trophy herself, whilst pushing Jannik out of the way .

I barely saw much of Anna during the match- if anything really. I saw a lot of Morgan (Taylor's girlfriend) and no doubt if he had won it, there would have been many pictures of them posing for 'content'.

I think that Jannik and Anna make a nice couple - I'm not a fan of Morgan Riddle or the other one (TP's GF)

I'm always surprised by how many women players seem to have fallen for Nick's apparent charms (yuk!)

Now that I'm back from holiday I'm starting to have FOMO about the Davis Cup - I'm thinking of possibly going to Sunday but the logistics are too complicated

I'm not sure that I want to go on my own and I think I've used up all of my tennis goodwill with DH for this year. I'm also not sure if my nearly 80 year old DM would like the raucous atmosphere of the Davis Cup

The Sunday could also be a dead rubber damp squib or an amazing doubles comeback from Dan - maybe I'll just watch it on the telly!
