Just checked, looks as if it's only on Acorn TV, and a subscription channel. Shame, but guess it will eventually be shown.

Ah bugger

Give it a month or two

I think Pearl and Mike are totally unconvincing as any sort of couple, though great in the detective roles. I really like Pearl's boyfriend Tom and think he is a much better match for her: cheery and non-intense, while also being caring. It puts me right off the whole series.

If they did want to make them convincing they'd need to recast Mike to be older and more attractive (not a fan of the hulk look).

Has everyone seen all of S2?

Was really shocked when Mike said how his wife had died.

I hope they don't keep doing an on/off with the two of them

mum2jakie · 02/11/2024 22:36

Yeah I'm a bit bored by the on/off relationship. Not convinced by them as a couple at all.

DFL ( down from London) has been a commonly used phrase in East Kent for at least two or three decades. The Mail on Sunday did a piece many years ago on the best seaside places to visit from London by train and the Whitstable boom began. My Dad was born there and he would laugh at the prices listed for the 'slums' he grew up in. It was the cheaper place to live when I was growing up along with Herne Bay.

I'll quote myself from another thread about moving out of London
"Away with your DFL crap. Smug bigotry. Londoners know much more than you ever will about "outsiders" moving in. It's why people love it here so much and those of us who are natives can see why"
I agree about the core "romance", it doesn't work

Series 3 is being advertised on Drama. Starts 25th July.
