Why does Disney stop shows half way?! NCIS, Greys etc

Argh, it's so annoying. Happily watching NCIS, Greys, Station 19 etc.... and now it's been off air for 2 weeks with no info on when it's coming back. Drives me CRAZY.

Is it new seasons? It might have stopped due to the actors/writers union strikes in America.

Greys and station 19 are on now. New episode every Thursday. There will be a mid season break at some point but we're only 5 episodes into the new seasons.

Aaah, I thought it was new episode Wednesday, so that explains that one.

It's post writers strike @Mrsjayy. In the US it looks like they had a one week hiatus after episode 6 or 7. But we've had only to episode 5 and we're now on week 2 of nothing new.

There was definitely episodes of greys and 19 last Thursday. I watched them on Sunday. There's 5 episodes of both so far.

Srry, realised my second post was confusing.

Greys/Station 19 - it appears to be MY mistake as it's thursdays, not wednesdays.

NCIS/NCIS Hawaii was definitely Wednesdays and we're now on week 2 of no show after seeing the first 5. In the US, they had a one week break after week 6.

I dont watch that one. But sounds very annoying if it's missing.

the US show episodes at a different rate to the UK - we normally get all episodes done then they show
where in the US they show as they make them which is why the flow rate is off

I'm sure they don't go live until 8pm. I can only see last weeks. I normally watch them over the weekend but I'm sure I read it's 8pm .

American viewers seem to accept gaps in showing a series “mid-season breaks” I can’t comment on your specific programmes but it annoys me too.

Greys anatomy is currently on mid-season break and will be back on the 16th. It's back in the US today.

Because of the writers' strike, there are only 10 episodes this season, hence the early mid season break.

American shows have a mid season break. Most of them seem to be on it just now. Check the show on Google. It'll tell you all the episodes so far. You'll probably find were pretty up to date

Writer's strike over now. Episodes 1-5 Season 20 have aired in the UK. Episode 6 was due 2/5/24 but is a no show. It aired on ABC in the US.

Especially sad to have short seasons as Station 19 has been cancelled so this is the last one. I was confused on Thursday too. Recommend 911 if you want something similar, new season of that just started on Disney.

I tend to agree - a mid season break when there are 22 episodes is one thing, but a mid season break for 10 episodes is just annoying.

And I just want NCIS back. <pouts>

It's so annoying. Waited about a year for a new season because of the writers strikes, I left it run a few weeks so I didn't have to try and remember what had happened ages ago, get into it and it stop. Then went to watch it last night and it's bloody stopped again. I'm gutted about station 19, I much prefer it to Grey's.

I think what's also annoying is that information is opaque. At least on Sky, you get adverts saying when it's coming back a few weeks ahead of time. But on Disney and other channels it just comes out of nowhere and even when you google it, there's very little info. There's probably an information flow here that the streaming services aren't getting right.

Why isnt grey anatomy on today now we missed two episodes episode's 6 and 7 now it's stupid to wait I hope they come on soon because we missed last weeks as well episode 6 I hope we dont miss another one next week
