I read that another old, as in classic, character is returning as part of the Mac storyline too.

Pretty please can someone fill me in on the main Mac storylines? I didn't watch back then.

Mac was the main GP at the practice called Riverside. He was married to Kate who was the practice manager and they had a son called Ciaran. That was quite a big storyline as he didn’t really want to be a Dad again as he had three adult children with his ex wife.

Kate had an affair with a priest and they divorced. He then remarried his ex wife Julia, who we saw a few years ago when she came to see Jimmi when he was released from jail (she was played by Diane Keen). She then became practice manager.

Some of his storylines showed him as an alcoholic, he also had a heart attack and was seen as being quite stubborn and stuck in his ways which led to the break up of the Riverside partnership.

There is more but it’s still to come in the classic episodes and I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who’s watching for the first time.

Where did Mac appear from? He seems rather confused. Shame Jimmi is at the nick as he's the only one who'll know him!
