Hi, I need to mainline crime dramas at the moment (they’re helping me de-stress) so can anyone recommend any?

I’ve seen tonnes and have lost count/am forgetting the names of some of them but I have enjoyed The Fall, Fortitude, The Long Shadow, Shetland, Manhunt, Traces, Unforgotten, all the Harlen Coben ones…

Any amazing ones I’ve missed? Thanks!

Try Hinterland. I think it's on iPlayer. Originated in Wales, but be warned it can be a bit dark.

AtrociousCircumstance · 14/04/2024 23:58

That’s exactly the sort of thing I’m after! Thanks @Meadowfinch 😊

Giri/Haji. It's a BBC one but is only on Netflix at the moment.
If you fancy another Welsh one try Keeping Faith on iPlayer. Not as dark as Hinterland and prettier houses.
Criminal UK on Netflix.

Just watched 'the people v OJ Simpson' on Disney. Was brilliant

Bosch and Bosch Legacy

If you haven't seen series 1 of Blue Lights (BBC) would recommend that especially as series 2 is about to start tomorrow.

Oh these all sound perfect!! Thank you all!

Traces on IPlayer

Mybusyday · 15/04/2024 02:10

Marcella was good!

Georgie743 · 15/04/2024 02:20

If you enjoyed the Fall then definitely try Marcella and Happy Valley. Those 3 are probably my all time faves

thankyouforthedayz · 15/04/2024 06:38

Line of Duty. The one with Suranne Jones on a submarine.

CrispsnDips · 15/04/2024 06:44

Trial and Retribution - on ITV X. Loads of episodes to watch, really good 👍🏼

menopausalmare · 15/04/2024 06:50

I-player have Silent Witness and Waking the Dead. They're old episodes but so many you can re-watch and not remember them.

River

The Bridge

XelaM · 15/04/2024 06:55

The Victim (itvx) - absolutely superb short series;
Happy Valley (bbc iplayer) - a must watch if you haven't yet seen it;
Broadchurch (itvx) - very good acting;
Line of Duty (bbc iplayer) - fantastic series.

Currently watching Unforgotten (itvx) - also very good.

ASighMadeOfStone · 15/04/2024 06:55

I'm always years behind watching things, but finished Marcella on Saturday. Batshit x 100 but very good.
I started The Missing (iPlayer) yesterday and that is excellent.

Also agree re: Giri/Haji. So different, unlike many good, but ultimately forgettable plotlines as they're so similar.

Money Heist has a stupid title but is my favourite series of all time (esp seasons 1&2 which are really 1 season)

I didn't care for The Fall as Gillian Anderson seemed to still be in Mrs Thatcher acting mode and it irritated me to the point I couldn't concentrate. 😂

i think it might be based on The Bridge

MassiveOvaryaction · 15/04/2024 09:06

There was a new episode of Midsomer Murders on ITV last night.

CSI season 10-15 available on Netflix atm, I'm working my way through those.

Happy Valley/Line of Duty as others have said (BBC)

Truelove on C4.

HalloumiDarlin · 15/04/2024 09:14

Great recommendations already on this thread.

Coma on channel 5 is also an excellent thriller.
