Hi, I need to mainline crime dramas at the moment (they’re helping me de-stress) so can anyone recommend any?

I’ve seen tonnes and have lost count/am forgetting the names of some of them but I have enjoyed The Fall, Fortitude, The Long Shadow, Shetland, Manhunt, Traces, Unforgotten, all the Harlen Coben ones…

Any amazing ones I’ve missed? Thanks!

Thank you everyone, I am compiling a massive list!

Love/Hate on ITVX. The first series is almost comically poor, but it improves massively after that.

Blue Lights on BBC.

Bodyguard. Deadloch on Amazon Prime. Bit off the wall to start with, but turns into a rip roaring whodunit.

Scott and Bailey - with Suranne Jones and Lesley Sharpe on ITVX

I’m adding to my own thread to say I’ve just watched Harlen Coben’s The Five and thoroughly
enjoyed it! He’s very lavish with mixing in alllllll the tropes!

Afraid I thought 'Blue Lights' went off the boil for the second series. Still recommend 'Love/Hate', though.

I've just finished Wisting on the iplayer. Not as noir as some other scandi dramas but I found it enjoyable enough

Is that subtitles as I have to be in the mood for those.

I adored Mare of Easttown, please watch that OP if you haven't already!

It's a mix of subtitled and English @Newtonianmechanics

I really enjoyed Smother on alibi.

Should have said 'Good Cop' from BBC a while ago. There was only one series of 3 episodes.

mondaytosunday · 11/05/2024 18:44

The Gentlemen is a lot of fun - Guy Ritchie. Only one season broadcast so far.
Money Heist (watch it in original Spanish with subtitles) was one of the best things I've seen in years. Sadly the prequel recently released not nearly as good. (Netflix).
Luther either Idris Elba.

We're watching our way through Criminal Minds at the moment.

For something a little bit different to standard crime drama, we enjoyed Person of Interest up until the last series and then it got a bit much!

We also really enjoyed Only Murders in the Building, which isn't a standard crime drama but is really well done.

The Responder . I am a huge Warren Brown fan. And although the main character is Martin Freeman. He is also excellent. Gritty and down to earth . 1st & 2nd seriws available to watch.

reallytimetodeclutter · 11/05/2024 20:04

Silent Witness... oldies but goodies

Jtothelo · 11/05/2024 20:40

Watch Kin series 1 and 2 on iplayer. This was one of my favs. It’s based around drugs sale but that only sets the reasons for the plots and stories. I really enjoyed the characters as well as the plots/ stories.
