We've run out of ideas. We've watched Modern Fam, Schitts Creek, Young Sheldon, Friends, Friday Night Dinner

Any suggestions? I loved the US Office but he found it boring (understandably)

I'm happy with a 15 cert

Ghosts. BBC. Loved it.

PandyMoanyMum · 02/04/2024 21:43

Brooklyn 99

MissBattleaxe · 02/04/2024 21:44

Here we Go on bbc iPlayer. A comedy about a family being filmed by their teenage son. Great cast too.

Oneofmykind · 02/04/2024 21:45

DS likes A League of their Own.

Timeandtune · 02/04/2024 21:45

Definitely Ghosts. We also like Only Murders in the Building.

MissBattleaxe · 02/04/2024 21:45

And Merlin! Loved it. Dragons, magic and Camelot.

calligraphee · 02/04/2024 21:47

Another vote for Ghosts.

If happy with 15 then Upstart Crow.

LauderSyme · 02/04/2024 21:47

Ds and I liked Young Sheldon too. That episode where Sheldon's sandwich tastes different and he ends up advocating for communism on TV then Meemaw does a cheerleading routine on the sidewalk with the stars and stripes had me in stitches 😄

YourSnugHazelTraybake · 02/04/2024 21:48

Another vote for ghosts!

HagBitch · 02/04/2024 21:52

Definitely Ghosts, it's brilliant.

We tried Father Ted with our 13yo DS last night. Not a big hit, and not particularly appropriate either (oops).

HarrietSchulenberg · 02/04/2024 21:53

DS3 loved The Middle when he was that age, as did I.

WarningOfGails · 02/04/2024 21:53

Derry Girls.

Sherrystrull · 02/04/2024 21:54

Malcolm in the middle
Red dwarf

ayegazumba · 02/04/2024 21:55

Derry Girls, Only Murders in the Building

Cheshireflamingo · 02/04/2024 21:55

Another vote for Ghosts. Our 13yo loves Taskmaster. There's a bleeped version if you don't like swearing, but I reckon it's nothing he doesn't hear at school.

Superstore

IT Crowd

LauderSyme · 02/04/2024 21:57

People are raving enthusiastically about Our Flag Means Death on another thread right now, but I don't know the age rating.

Lyricallie · 02/04/2024 21:58

I know you named mainly American ones. But for British ones, have you tried IT crowd or black books? Pretty good comedies!

Simplelobsterhat · 02/04/2024 21:58

Our 14 yo (who also likes young Sheldon and Friday night dinner) has in the last few years loved Brooklyn 98, it crowd, Ghosts, goes wrong show, Derry girls, outnumbered and taskmaster.

LauderSyme · 02/04/2024 21:59

All of Blackadder. All of One Foot in the Grave if you can find it.

Curlyblondefemale · 02/04/2024 21:59

My son really liked Peep Show.

LawrieForShepherdsBoy · 02/04/2024 22:04

Brooklyn 99 - absolutely the best tv sit com ever and perfect for watching with teens.

Agree with pp who said The IT Crowd - such a great sitcom, again perfect for this age.

I love The Middle (note different to Malcom in the Middle), it’s like a 2020s version of Roseanne, a family sitcom that’s kind of warm and cynical at the same time. My dd loved it more than my ds.

Not a sit com, but if you’re not already watching Taskmaster, then that’s fantastic watching with teens. The seasons vary a lot in quality, I’d recommend starting with S5 or S7.

AmaryllisChorus · 02/04/2024 22:04

My sons loved Parks & Rec at that age or a bit older - especially once it got into the Jean-Ralphio scenes. There are LOADS of episodes.

If he liked Young Sheldon, has he watched Big Bang Theory?

The IT Crowd

What We Do In The Shadows

Ghosts

Kimmy Schmidt - really horrible set up and yet it manages to be funny and lighthearted

Hidingplace · 02/04/2024 22:10

Kim’s Convenience on Netflix. Recently discovered it and very funny! I watched it on my own and don’t have teenage children but I don’t like rude things and I found it okay! Probably references to things but nothing shocking. It’s mostly very funny and sweet!
