We've run out of ideas. We've watched Modern Fam, Schitts Creek, Young Sheldon, Friends, Friday Night Dinner

Any suggestions? I loved the US Office but he found it boring (understandably)

I'm happy with a 15 cert

Wow, thanks everyone! Some great suggestions here...

He hated Flight of the Concords, and he's seen Brooklyn 99 and Big Bang Theory. But we'll explore the others.

Parks And Recreation definitely

Screamingabdabz · 03/04/2024 09:57

Another late vote for Superstore and if you can cope with swearing - ‘Brassic’ - it’s genius.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 03/04/2024 09:59

I’ve just been watching Horrible Histories with Dd 17. I’d forgotten how hilarious it was.

Seriously?!😂😂😂. Of course 13 year olds watch the Inbetweeners.

Honestly I find the Inbetweeners hilarious but there's scenes of w*king FFS, and endless references to bjs and a*l sex etc. Surely most people don't sit around with their 13 year olds watching it.

Meadowbird · 05/04/2024 07:24

I’m pretty relaxed about ratings but the inbetweeners is not for 13 year olds - its the one thing I won’t watch it with my 16 yo! At 13 I also think they might interpret them as role models!

Flight of the conchords!!

I love that show so much!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 05/04/2024 07:32

The Middje
Superstore

Willmafrockfit · 05/04/2024 07:33

outnumbered was always popular

Besideourselves · 05/04/2024 07:45

Ted Lasso , Only Fools and Horses

LetItGoHome · 05/04/2024 07:56

Cuckoo, Ghost, Father ted, Alan partridge, Red Dwarf, Death in Paradise,

muddyford · 05/04/2024 08:01

Dad's Army
Yes, Minister/Prime Minister

The first doesn't date and the second seems always relevant - which is why it never seems to be rerun during an election year!

whatwouldAnnaDelveydo · 05/04/2024 08:04

The good place (same creators of Brooklyn 99)
Ted lasso

(We had loads of interesting discussions about these two series)

AnImaginaryCat · 05/04/2024 08:08

I've been watching series with my son for years. Bear in mind he's now an adult, so you might want to check out some off my list first to see how comfortable you would be watching them with your 13 year old.

In no particular order and just as I recall them:

Modern Family
Outnumbered
Ted Lasso
Man like Mobeen
Benidorm
The Inbetweeners
The IT Crowd
Father Ted
Breeders
Back to Life
Superstore
Malcom in the Middle
Motherland
The Cleaner
Man Down
Cuckoo
Blackbooks

(Ok the list is long!! Promise the pair of us do things other than watch TV!!)

daffodilandtulip · 05/04/2024 08:12

Randomly my DC loves the old 80s/90s BBC type comedies ... blackadder, vicar of dibley, outnumbered, my family, keeping up appearances, fools and horses, red dwarf, father ted. He was introduced to vicar of dibley at grandparents and came home asking me to find something else 😂

Figgygal · 05/04/2024 08:14

I'm struggling with my 12yo hes watched ghosts and now young Sheldon
He's never watched a lot of TV so I've been shocked he's watched/watching those.
Can't believe someone said what we do in the shadows is suitable for a 13yo even though I love matt berry.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 05/04/2024 08:56

Laurel and Hardy?

poetrylover · 05/04/2024 09:00

We did
Brooklyn 99
Black books
Superstore
Malcolm in the middle
Ghosts
Wednesday
Have started scrubs.
😊 I want to do my name is Earl but not sure he's ready for that one! 😂

poetrylover · 05/04/2024 09:01

Oh and the IT crowd.

CadyEastman · 05/04/2024 09:01

Common Sense Media suggests 13 plus.

PartOfTheFurniture12 · 05/04/2024 09:04

Malcolm in the Middle, My Name is Earl and Scrubs were all popular in our house.

CuriositysCat · 05/04/2024 09:04

My DS (13) got into Blackadder and Fawlty Towers recently. So much fun to rewatch them through his eyes. He’s now watching Father Ted.
We also watch Frasier together.
Another vote for Ghosts too.

WalkingaroundJardine · 05/04/2024 09:08

My kids and I watched Outnumbered together and loved it.

Threewordseightletters · 05/04/2024 09:14

This Country - truly hilarious especially if you have first hand experience of rural life.

I’ve got enemies in South Cerney, I’ve got enemies in North Cerney, I’ve got enemies in Cerney Wick. I’ve got enemies in Bourton-on-the-Water. There’s a tea rooms there and under the counter they’ve got a panic button and if I take one step inside, they can press that.”
