Hunted - anyone watching?

I came on looking for a thread too! It’s very different from the earlier series but I’ve enjoyed the first two. No names nailed down yet but the girl whose father was just hunted won’t last long surely?

What episode are you on? I've just started the second one but if we want one alongside the ones on c4 then I think it's only had one episode?

I’m watching with DD. We’re deciding if we want to apply for this show or Race across the world 😂

God I love Hunted but according to the facebook group that I am sad enough to be a member of, they are not making any more after this one apart from Celeb ones.

I’m just watching the one from yesterday.

While I enjoy it, and I know it’s not completely true, some of it is clearly fake. Like searching their flats and finding detailed maps and contact lists. Or tracking a friend booking a hotel room.

@NCTDN we are. Hunted was winning (prize money factor) but then I just read @DiveBombingSeagull post. We are not celebrities sadly 😂

But think of all the places you could see in race across the world.

In fairness most of the people on celebrity programs aren’t actually celebrities

Does anyone know about cameramen? The two privately educated ones split up not both seem to have a camera following them

I must admit, I spend most of the programme (Hunted) moaning about how fake it is. I mean, most CCTV isn't continuous monitored for specific faces. People on the run don't conveniently leave notebooks with names, numbersz, even a map. Most Facebook profiles are locked to Friends only. It's obvious that the camera operators feed the information back to the hunters.

I know they say that scenes and techniques are recreated for entertainment purposes but ... really ... It's just so fake. And yet I still watch it. So more fool me!!!

It’s so fake, but also lots of fun. When it started it was so much more real.

Yes I watched it. Predictable ending being so close but yet so far!

I was routing for her too - it's all very predictable but then so much of tv today is.

I enjoyed it. The last ten mins tonight was very tense. I’m glad Sade made it but I’m amazed they didn’t catch her when they were close enough to see her and clearly much fitter than she is.
Credit to her though, no way could I run up a bloody mountain even for a share of £100k.
I wonder what would happen if the Hunters got to the chopper with the fugitives in it before it took off. Are they allowed to pull them out?
I’ve seen some of the previous series but not all, I don’t think, so might watch them on catch up. I don’t like the celebrity version as much.

I’m glad people got away this year. The train was very tense!

I hate the way the Hunters dismiss all the middle aged women and assume the young men will be serious contenders. Deeply sexist and ageist. So I was really chuffed for Sade, I didn't think she would make it (I actually thought I was dying trying to climb a mountain with much fitter friends a few years ago) and was so pleased when she did. And loved the fact that Jax and Nicola were cheering her on, even though it meant less prize money for them.

I thought using plain clothes hunters made it much harder for the fugitives, and wondered if that was why the hunter on the train didn't just arrest them there and then - maybe the capture has to be the uniformed hunters? It definitely feels like there are rules which we don't know about - so perhaps they have to choose to either go home or post a provocative location video online at some point?

I agree it's all a bit fake, but I do manage to suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy it. This was a relevant post on the linked Reddit thread:

I like the idea of the programme and was glad the bro/sis got on then helped Sade that's the best kind of ending for me but i absolutely hate the hunters , they are so arrogant and unlikeable, also it is to far fetched .

The hunters are a bit sexy though. The guys in black swanning around in the Land Rovers, I mean, not the ones in HQ.
I did think the scene of a Land Rover splashing through a ford last night looked like a scene from a Land Rover ad. I wonder if Land Rover loan them the cars free in return for shots like those.
