I've said that before, but I think Jack is double crossing her. Talking up their pact when they're alone and enjoying making her look a fool when he's on camera.

Her facial expressions when confronted with Jack’s behaviour - she looks uncomfortable, and to me it’s clear that she is fully aware of how vile his behaviour is.

So it’s either a pact OR she knows he’s an arse, but is so desperate to be on the show/be with him that she is purposefully making excuses for his behaviour.
