But thought I would add a few more that I watch through still not understand the Up Next option.

Please do add others or links to existing threads.

Sharper (which turned out to be a film not a series) is quite intriguing thriller and how people become linked.

Quite a starry cast with Juliane Moore.

The Last Thing He Told Me - thriller series with Jennifer Garner.

Wife tries to find out why her husband has disappeared with stroppy step daughter in tow.

One of those series I sought of associate with a sunday afternoon. Nothing to scary, but certainly not as silly as say the Marlow Murder Club.

Constellation - mentioned on other Apple threads and still with 2 episodes to be released.

Really enjoying this, and am wondering how it will be concluded in a satisfying way, ie believable.

It has it own thread but obviously with spoilers from those who have been watching week by week.

Perhaps I'm losing my mind but I was reading the thread and it was in the Feminist board which was weird so I posted about it, checking it wasn't in telly addicts but no, the feminist board, come back few minutes later and it was in Telly Addicts but obviously you didn't get it moved then.

I was hoping to find one of the existing threads so as to highlight series that haven't had a mention before - but for some reason the search thingy didn't show any threads for Apple!

But do still have the list that posters kindly helped compile when I started my free 3 months (which ends the day before that last episode of Constellation - help)

Bad Sisters 4
Beanie Bubble 1
Black Bird 1
Coda 3
Defending Jacob 1
For All Mankind 1
Foundation 2
Hijack 3
Lessons in Chemistry 2
Mosquito Coast 1
Mythic Quest 1
Schmigadoon 2
See 1
Severance 5
Shrinking 1
Silo 3
Slow Horses 5
Still Up 1
Ted Lasso 5
Tetris 1
The After Party 2
The Banker 1
The Last Thing He Told Me 2
The Morning show 2
Trying 1
We Crashed 1

Add a second vote for Shrinking.
Harrison Ford is very grumpy.
Jason Segel is excellent.
It is written by Segel, Bill Lawrence who wrote Scrubs and Cougar Town and Brett Goldstein who plays Roy Kent.

Ladybird909 · 13/03/2024 21:23

Severance is very good
And Silo

IwantToRetire · 14/03/2024 20:50

Yes Silo was really good, and would consider signing up again should they make a second series. I'll add the link because its hard just from the name of a series to get an idea of what its about. So if you dont like scifi this probably isn't for you!

Trying is absolutely fantastic. Heartwarming, tear jerking, wonderfully acted. I love it. Currently binging it and sad my free 3 month apple subscription won’t cover all of series 4.

IwantToRetire · 14/03/2024 20:53

Also recommend Servant, but ... it has really dark humour and not at all whimsical like the Sixth Sense which has the same creator.

And really importantly for anyone who has suffered the terrible tragedy of a baby's death would imagine that this series would seem a step too far in gothic horror.

Just started City on Fire - very contemporary New York and how a crime brings people from very different communities in contact with each other.

https://tv.apple.com/gb/episode/we-have-met-the-enemy-and-he-is-us/umc.cmc.4ucffzrzdl2cl0tp9jw16gdry

Just to say have now finished watching City on Fire.

Mainly thought it very good, with interesting look at gentrification, political skullduggery, along with the main plot of who and why a young girl was shot. And because this happened how people from very different communities in New York came into contact and the consequences of that.

But I found (which I often do with series!) that the ending was a bit of a let down.

In this instance (spolier?) it was almost as though the last 2 episodes were written by a totally different person than the earlier one. What had been a gritty inner city drama became something just a tiny bit sloppy and feel goodish.

But who knows? Sometimes things do or might turn out for the best!
