I think it is @IPartridge . The programme is actually called George Clarke’s Remarkable Renovations, maybe that’s why the thread is so quiet. I’ve just watched Episode 2 the office conversion. I like the first one, the shop a lot. The office one is very cleverly done but wouldn’t fancy living in an industrial estate.

Thanks, I thought the title didn't sound right.

I wasn't keen on the converted office but seems to work well as a bachelor pad / party house.

No problem @LadyEloise1 , I was a bit confused at first but thought you must mean Remarkable Renovations when you said about the courtyard which was so lovely.
i have recorded Extraordinary Extensions to watch at a later date.
what did you think of the office conversion?

It was a very good renovation
I thought George's idea of a long skylight was much better than the solar spotlights that were put in.
The mini patio out the front was a good idea.
I wondered why he couldn't do a roof garden ?

I love the restoration of buildings.
So many cities and towns ( particularly in Ireland where I live ) have shops and homes ripe for conversion to homes.

It was all going so well in Yorkshire until.... urgh a hot tub.
Though I like George I do think Kevin asks much more pithy questions and we get to know much more about finances. The Yorkshire renovation went from £100K to £300K+, DP and I speculated how long it'll be before it's on the market.

I don’t think we need to know more about someone’s finances, that’s very intrusive.

Just watched the first episode and I'm absolutely in awe of Dawn. What a beautiful transformation. She has such amazing vision to take the old village shop and turn into a stunning family home. The kitchen and the courtyard garden were to die for. I watch a lot of renovation shows and having been through one myself I can attest to the absolute stress that takes over your whole life, but she handled it so well. And extra kudos for being a single parent and working full time to give her kids their dream home

Agree re the light tunnels which I felt looked odd in the bathroom. A roof garden would have been a good idea but maybe the weight would have been too much.
I see Hugh Wallace is doing another renovation series (RTE) I think it’s to be on soon , caught something about it on instagram. I really enjoyed it when he did it before.

The latest George Clarke this week was heart warming and a lovely wee home.

I watched the bakery renovation and agree with @Lampslights and @gingercat02 that it was such a lovely thing for the brother to restore the building and make a gorgeous home for his sister and nephew with special needs.
He was such a grafter and the restoration truly was remarkable.
I just hoped some wealthy person watching the show might be moved to donate a few bob to help with the finances. He had to remortgage his own house as costs spiralled.

Has anyone watched the Barber’s shop episode yet? Turned into a lovely wee house although it felt slightly cramped to me in places. I liked all the features though. Beautiful garden.

I wondered about the cellar too. They seemed to gloss over it totally, didn’t even confirm if they moved the stairs.
