New series needed to see me through Winter

I've recently watched Fleabag (late to the party obviously), Catastrophe (likewise, loved it), This Way Up, Series 2 and 3 of Afterlife, Motherland all series (for the umpteenth time) and loved them all. Is there anything out there as good as these? I need something to see me through the rest of the cold dark nights! Thanks.

Dead to Me on Netflix is fun, if over the top.
Also the Swedish series Bonus Family is fantastic.

SugarPlumpFairy3 · 29/12/2023 08:26

This is us. The most utterly brilliant series I’ve EVER watched. I think it’s streaming on Amazon and Disney plus.

If you don’t have those, Dr Foster is a very good watch.

Suomynona · 29/12/2023 08:27

@SugarPlumpFairy3 thank you but have already done both 'This Is US' (love love loved it) and Dr Foster.

SugarPlumpFairy3 · 29/12/2023 08:30

Workin’ moms?

Snorklette · 29/12/2023 08:36

Fresh Meat
Friday Night Dinner
Ghosts
Upstart Crow

Nothing tops Motherland though. Grin

Fisk

scoobs321 · 29/12/2023 08:38

I'm currently enjoying Schitts Creek, wondered what all the fuss was about until I started watching it.

FayKnights · 29/12/2023 08:40

Agree with lots of the above.
Inside No.9 and Ghosts both have really good podcasts to listen to after each episode.
if you have Apple TV, I highly recommend Slow Horses

Littleroundsponge · 29/12/2023 08:44

Sex Education

Scaleyflagpole · 29/12/2023 08:45

You have similar taste to me.
I've liked
Love sick ( netflix - started life on C4)
Starstruck ( same)
Bad Sisters ( apple- losts interest a bit and trial ended)
Home for Christmas ( Norwegian, netflix)- set at Christmas rather than a Christmas series
Modern Love ( s1 and s2 Prime)
Love life ( was iplayer might be netflix)

RepetitiveMotion · 29/12/2023 08:47

Ted Lasso on Apple

rochethenut · 29/12/2023 08:47

ElsaMars · 29/12/2023 08:50

Hecksonaplane · 29/12/2023 08:50

Good girls on Netflix

CormorantStrikesBack · 29/12/2023 08:52

Derry girls

Suomynona · 29/12/2023 08:53

Thanks all. I should have clarified that we have Sky, Netflix, Prime, but not Apple tv. I have done The Crown bar the last series, and have tried Schitts Creek but really didn't get on with it. I loved Downton Abbey too so might go through those again, or try The Gilded Age.

I’d highly recommend getting Apple TV for a month or two - easy to cancel
once once you’ve binged all you want! Not only Ted Lasso, but Slow Horses and the Morning Show are excellent too.

Escapetothecatshome · 29/12/2023 08:55

Good girls on Netflix so so funny ! And a fab cast x

BakingQueen14 · 29/12/2023 08:57

Here we Go and AIBU on iplayer

ithinkicanithinkican · 29/12/2023 09:32

Slightly off topic, but where did you watch Catastrophe? I've been trying to find it online but couldn't. Thanks!

tryingsomethingnew · 29/12/2023 09:34

I really enjoyed Castaways on Paramount. It's not amazing but for a five part murder
Mystery type of thing it was good and we watched it in two days.
