Awww, I thought it was a really clever ending.

Ulysees · 25/12/2023 20:32

Yes fab ending

Loved that they regularly go back to visit

But... won't she see ghosts wherever she lives? That was established early on in the first series

Good point!

I laughed at the sauna scene before we saw the plague Ghosts as knew it was coming 🤣

Yes but the competing attachment was too much for Alison to juggle. maybe they can exist better independently. The Coopers can live somewhere without resident ghosts, although she will see them out and about. She can still visit Button House and the ghost family continue to reside there , with some comings and goings,

Saucery · 25/12/2023 20:56

That was just so touching and lovely.

mum2jakie · 25/12/2023 21:02

Lovely ending. Sentimental but not mawkish

heartsinvisiblefury · 25/12/2023 21:03

I cried 😭

TyneTeas · 25/12/2023 22:43

Feels like there was maybe potential to do something with Mike seeing them with the monitor too, a window into their world

Eveeeeeee · 25/12/2023 22:45

It was so lovely but I also feel so sad that it’s over!

RainDropsStorm · 25/12/2023 23:09

I cried, can't believe it's over for good 😢

TwentyThreeFifteen · 25/12/2023 23:17

I thought it was lovely, there is another thread where many don’t agree. So sad it’s over. I may have to rewatch from the beginning.

TyneTeas · 25/12/2023 23:27

The book was one of my presents, looking forward to reading that

TwinklingLightsEverywhere · 25/12/2023 23:31

I didn't much like the ending. I can't imagine Alison doing that, being sure she'd never regret it and taking the future of button house out of her control.

I was expecting the ghosts to suggest dividing up the house, living as neighbours rather than together. I don't know why that occurred to me but it would have worked.

Ulysees · 26/12/2023 00:04

@TyneTeas thanks I wondered about the room name. I got DH the book for Christmas. He loves the Robin talk. Have you seen Laurence Rickard do it on YouTube?

I was heartbroken. Daft to feel that way over a tv show but I felt really sad. I might just watch them all again and pretend the last one didn't happen. La! La! La! Happy place!

We've already watched them all before the final. We'll wait a few months and re-watch.

Moonah :(

shearwater2 · 26/12/2023 05:00

I thought it was lovely, really sad but perfect.

Quietplaces · 26/12/2023 05:10

I did wonder why they didn't move into the cottage on the grounds or have another one built, as part of the sale agreement, obviously separated from the new hotel, then they could have had their own place but seen the ghosts regularly like family living nearby but that's just my dream for them!
