Are the script writers playing a really long game here?

There was some minor incident before Christmas, wasn't there - someone fell off a ladder and the ladder fell on someone else, or something, and Sid turned up and saved the day? I can't quite remember.

But anyway. One of the wounded had a splint put on by a random bloke/doctor who then disappeared, and no one knew who he was, which seemed like it was going to be the start of a who-is-the-mystery-doctor story, but went nowhere.

Could fake Jimmy be the same guy?
