Gawd - The Metro are such wind up merchants .
They had this
: EastEnders Mick Carter legend Danny Dyer returning to iconic role
but it's not about EE , it's The Football Factory Xmas Hmm

Couple of trailers on there about the Walford 6 (Linda and Suki) but nothing given away .

Edited -didn't put a capital letter in Suki's name

the80sweregreat · 03/12/2023 14:00

I bet that DD comes back next year or something. Although people on mumsnet have said his been critical of the show lately , so depends if he patches things up I suppose

At least Elaine didn't say ' best Christmas ever ' but that's what she meant ! Lol
I've never seen Phil so distraught before , wait till he finds out it was his own son that was kidnapped.
Although why he didn't think to look up social media himself I've no idea.
I bet Karen takes the blame for all of it and that's why she leaves.
Stacey and Jack look cosy , but blimey , three in the same family ! ..
Sam is bound to twig as she is very nosy !

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/12/2023 13:50

The first character to utter This'll be the best Christmas ever deserves to end up face down on the floor of the Queen Vic .
Usually it's Phil that says it .
Or Alfie .
But even though Elaine isn't a new character , this incarnation of her is . She's only been in it a few months so yeah, Lainey will get the Best Christmas Ever line . Xmas Wink

Southeastdweller · 04/12/2023 13:51

I thought that was pretty good going of Sam to snoop on Malcolm's socials and find a pic of him with Albie. It wasn't something that would be immediately obvious for many people to do - snoop on Karen's brother-in-law.

the80sweregreat · 04/12/2023 14:50

I'm guessing that ( maybe) Phil mentioned Uncle Malcolm and his odd trousers to Sam as he saw him in the Vic with Sharon / Albie !?
It's good that EE are getting on board with 'new' tech though ! Lol
Well done Sam , will she move in with them all now ??

Johnny Carter is returning to EastEnders with actor Charlie Suff taking over the role

the80sweregreat · 05/12/2023 13:12

Johnny went off to be a human rights lawyer i believe? Can't remember where though
L used to call him sausage !

OP posts:
the80sweregreat · 05/12/2023 13:22

Might be handy having a lawyer around with dead bodies lying about at Christmas time !
( I know he isn't a criminal lawyer, but EE writers are keen on lawyers being a 'Jack of all trades '!)

An Albert Square comeback is on the cards as Johnny Carter makes a return to the show.
Mick and Linda’s adored son has been living and working in Manchester for the past five years after relocating north, in January 2018. Charlie Suff will take on the role as Johnny who returns in the not-too-distant future. Charlie trained at the Bristol Old Vic and has worked on stage and in short films.
Speaking on joining EastEnders, Charlie Suff said: “I’m so delighted to be joining such an iconic programme - EastEnders was always on at my house when I was growing up. Johnny is a complex character who has been through so much, which I can’t wait to explore. I’ve found EastEnders to be the most kind and loving space to work in, and I already feel like one of the family.”
Chris Clenshaw, Executive Producer, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Charlie Suff to the role of Johnny Carter. Although we haven’t seen Johnny on The Square in almost five years, his character remains linked to the show and its most iconic venue, The Queen Vic. Since his short time away, the Carter family dynamics have changed significantly, and it’s safe to say that Johnny will be returning to a very different Walford than the one he left.” #EastEnders

Will sausage have to live in that crowded flat with the Knights and his brother and sister we never see much of ?
Being a lawyer , he may be able to rent one of Jacks flats though !

Hello! Can I join in here for spoilers please?

I’m a bit flummoxed, feel like I’ve missed an episode.
Can someone please enlighten me how Phil got wind of the fact that the Taylors were involved with Albie’s kidnapping?
The last episode last week was all about Ravi/Nish/Suki/Eve, and then all of a sudden, yesterday’s episode Phil starts giving Karen & co the side eye and gets Sam to be a PI.

the80sweregreat · 05/12/2023 14:19

Mitch hit one of Kats cabs
Karen gave 2k to her for repairs , but told Kat it was maintenance money from Gray for his kids and not to tell Mitch ( because he knows about the money / kidnap etc)
Phil checked the cash and discovered it was his cash as he had previously marked it
He asked Sam to check out the Taylor's and she found Malcolm's Facebook page and a photo of Albie dated the day of his 'kidnap '
His now in a Phil type rage !

Thanks @the80sweregreat
I was wondering why Phil already seemed to have his suspicions in the Vic, when Karen was ordering all the breakfasts and pulling out the pair of trainers for Mack.

Viewer23 · 05/12/2023 21:28

I guess with Eve’s exit, Johnny is the new lawyer on the square!

I think he’d observed her spending a lot of money so was suspicious

Southeastdweller · 06/12/2023 10:39

EE is so predictable sometimes. Phil confronted Karen in today’s episode so as we know Karen is leaving and Keanu gets married to Sharon, as speculated on here, Karen will take the blame for the fake kidnapping.

I know it’s all because the actress has been let go and they need an exit story for her, but dumping £50K in cash of someone else’s money under your bed and spending some of it conspicuously in the square is a recipe for disaster. If it were me I’d open a lot of saving accounts and ISA’s and deposit small amounts to avoid being flagged up by banks and building societies for money laundering.

the80sweregreat · 06/12/2023 12:05

Yep, considering they live in London where bank branches are still around and accessible, I'd be tempted to open up different accounts too !
Not sure how mobile / app savvy Karen is , but I'm sure she could have asked in a bank how to open up an account online or something

Anyone else ever get a irrationally annoyed that EE is apparently the only place on earth where mobile phones are always unlocked, meaning everyone can read your messages (this is re: Nish reading Eve's phone)? Meanwhile, over in the real world everyone's phone can only be unlocked by fingerprint, face recognition etc.!

I noticed a very obvious nod to the 'square group chat' by Sonia today. So expect that's where Dean will post the audio of Linda saying it wasn't rape.

the80sweregreat · 06/12/2023 13:22

Oh yes your right
Dean will find out about the square chat app and post her ' confession ' on there :(

Had to look up where Monserrat is ( I've heard of it , but wasn't sure where it was etc)
Looks lovely !
Who was Dee visiting? Does her mum live there ?
