I definitely think the storyline is worth all the complaints, the further it goes and the more cruelty we see the more gratuitous it feels on the part of the scriptwriters. I know Eastenders tries to raise awareness about sensitive issues like rape and domestic abuse but sometimes it’s so extreme that it feels like just mining misery for entertainment. The plot of the 6 definitely feels that way since there’s a gender based element to the abuse of all the victims.

I feel very similar to you with this storyline. And especially with the rape and domestic abuse storylines, they definitely seem entertainment based.

I was trying to think today of a controversial storyline in a soap which was done well, and it was the one where Maxine was followed home and violently attacked. I recall her being interviewed (the actress) as I don’t watch Hollyoaks after it and the whole point she was making and so were the police that it wasn’t her fault and she was just trying to get home and she should have the right to do that, wearing what she likes, without the fear of being attacked. I’ve checked and she didn’t get the NTA award this year but was long listed for this and nominated for the 2023 British soap awards for it and is pending for Inside soap awards and TV times for this year. I hope she does win something as it’s rare something like this touches me, it must’ve been off the back of the Sarah Everard and other cases.

oh I think Shabnham left with Jade after she left Kush but as usual the story is hazy. how did jade come Into it I'm still a bit behind I did see her with her oxygen did she just come on the tube without her mum?

I’m pretty sure we never saw Shabnam with Dean back in 2008, not in the sense that it looked like they were going to sleep together or any morning after scenes. So when she came back in 2014 and played by a different actress, I think the Jade conception story was something new the writers had dreamt up - I do remember Shabnam lying to Dean that Roya / Jade was dead and later she tried to get custody, but nothing about how it all began in 2008.

There was something I saw a clip of ( I think it aired yesterday) where The Walford 6 were chatting to Joe Swash ( who was an Eastender himself Mickey Miller ) looked like fun but I doubt any clues were given .

BBC 3 at 8pm yesterday ( I checked)

70s , the bbc three prog was very good and is on I player!
Nice to see Kellie bright with her hair down
They all looked great
Must be a programme on after Christmas Day episode too as it was left on a cliff hanger at the end

The one who is the murderer was told the other day they said , so Joe Swash was trying to get one to lower her guard a bit , but with six great soap actresses there he didn't get very far !
No real clues , only a recap of each story for each character and why they might kill someone.

I had a feeling tonight with Linda talking about Mick that he might return on Christmas Day, but I don't want him to be Cufflinks. Poor Linda, she doesn't deserve to be treated like this.

Today's was good but I was cross with Sharon for her reaction seeing Linda had drunk. Rather than being understanding and supportive, she made her feel worse
