The BBC has acquired the thrilling Irish crime drama KIN, an eight-part series produced by BRON Studios (Joker) and Headline Pictures (The Man in the High Castle), from FIFTH SEASON for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

The drama's cast is led by Clare Dunne (Herself), Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones), Ciarán Hinds (Game of Thrones), Sam Keeley (The Cured), Emmett J. Scanlan (Peaky Blinders), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Outlander) and newcomer Yasmin Seky.

A boy is killed and his family embarks on a gangland war with an international cartel: a war that is impossible to win.

The Kinsellas are a local crime family, while the Cunningham cartel is a vast global organisation. It is David and Goliath.

Out-numbered, out-financed and out-gunned, the Kinsellas find themselves holed up in their Dublin stronghold while their businesses fail, and family members and associates are picked off.

But they have something the cartel does not: the unbreakable bonds of blood and family. They are kin.

Sue Deeks, Head of BBC Programme Acquisition, says: “Anchored by a tremendous cast, Kin is a powerful and intense story of love, grief, family and crime, and its devastating ramifications.”

@Blondeshavemorefun got completely hooked on this yesterday as the whole series is available on iPlayer. I shall see you on the other side as always having been placed on the naughty step for watching ahead 😂

Crinkle77 · 19/11/2023 17:11

I've watched the first couple of episodes but to be honest I'm a bit bored. Apart from the end of the first episode and the scene in episode 2 with Frank in the car at the bar (not saying in case I spoil it for anyone but I wasn't expecting it!) it's been a bit dull. And I don't like any of the characters. It's hard to have sympathy for them when they chose to bring children in to that world.

Got episode two on. Think other half's more engaged than I am. I'm struggling to distinguish between, or care about, any of the characters.

I know it's a tale as old as time, but I'm finding it too much of a pastiche and chuckle a bit when I see Eamon, who really thinks he's Don Corleone, or the director and makeup artist did.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/11/2023 19:01

Well I would want revenge so don't blame jimmy

All very well frank saying leave it

But was his son Eric who started ir and he's alive

£150k -is that all his son was worth

watched the whole series there is more of the snake but really not much at all in context and from the very very small footage never leaves the tank for the white one just looking at it briefly and one where he has a small one round his hand when he is sat down probably for 39 seconds from what i can remember

catskittens · 20/11/2023 08:09

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/11/2023 23:33

No the snake was a one off

sorry but its not a one off but in context very very small future footage

Ahna65 · 20/11/2023 08:33

thanks @catskittens , that’s good to know, will be on the alert! Stupid I know but can’t shake the phobia

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/11/2023 10:28
