@2chocolateoranges where would you put Trish in terms of aggression vs Kerry, Dylan and Paul?

I disagree that Trish is aggressive. She's assertive and maintains boundaries.

They are all as aggressive as each other. You can sort things out by talking and without name calling people.

There is a fine line between being assertive and being aggressive and for me she’s crossed into aggressive.

from the 1hr we see each night I don’t think she is coming across any better than those 3 did.

who knows what goes on in the other 23 hrs in big brother land!

She isn’t just being labelled aggressive, she is! She is involved in every single dispute and argument in the place.

in real life I don’t know anyone who backs her. I was shocked when I heard the cheers for her at the last eviction.

It is a racist stereotyping of labelling a black woman am angry black woman. If you don't know anyone in real life who backs her that says more about the echo chamber and type of people you associate with.

She has stood up to bullying behaviour and antagonism on behalf of those who feel less able to stand up to frankly quite unpleasant housemates. She has offered advice and comfort to people.

In the face of vile behaviour from others she won't take their nonsense. To label her aggressive further perpetuates the racial stereotyping.

People who watch live streaming which is available know. And frankly enough is shown on rhe 1 hour shows to see the racism that Tom blatantly exhibits.

Also agree with the others; it’s depressing as hell that Trish is being labelled as aggressive when all she is doing is assertively maintaining her boundaries. Olivia is constantly shouting, screeching, screaming and often in people’s personal space yet I’ve never seen her described as aggressive. Also Trish consistently shows nurturing and empathetic qualities towards her fellow housemates (even one’s that don’t deserve it) but the people calling her aggressive never take this side of her in to consideration as it doesn’t fit the narrative of her as aggressive and confrontational.

@JaneJeffer

You need to watch the row with Dylan, like watch the whole episode

HurdyGurdy19 · 09/11/2023 11:11

I do wonder at times if the housemates actually know what aggression is.

I don't see Trish as aggressive at all. Assertive and firm in her approach, yes. But not aggressive.

Aggressive, to be, would be intimidating, getting into people's faces, talking between gritted teeth or shouting right in their face. I've not seen Trish doing any of that.

Right. Dylan and Paul oozed aggression and intimidation.

Interesting that people here to describe Trish in that way have never used that to describe those two pieces of crap.

Quirkyme · 09/11/2023 11:15

Misogynoir at its finest.

Exactly. The only times that Trish has raised her voice and maybe appeared as confrontational is when she has been reacting directly to aggressive and intimidating behaviour TOWARDS her. It is nonsense to call her aggressive in those instances but not recognise or indeed acknowledge the behaviour of the actual aggressors.

JaneJeffer · 09/11/2023 11:36

Sky has decided I'm not allowed to @Quirkyme 🤔

ErmWhatever · 09/11/2023 11:39

Probably already been mentioned but you just know if Olivia or Chanelle had Trish's attitude they'd be hailed as assertive women standing up for what's right. Black women aren't afforded the same grace.

Can you watch on More 4?

Nah it's not been mentioned at all. 100%

I find Olivia to be very aggressive. And has been multiple times towards Yinrun.

JaneJeffer · 09/11/2023 11:46

@Quirkyme no ITV hates Ireland 😂 no seriously they do!

Just realised I said More4 🤣

Ahhhhhh , you gotta sort it out! I want you to watch the episode!!!!!!!!

in which case I missed your labelling of Kerry, Dylan and Paul as aggressive and only caught you mentioning the black woman 🤷‍♀️.

AhBiscuits · 09/11/2023 11:56

It's important that we focus on Jenkin, that's still too close for comfort.

All my votes went for Jenkin, in order to save Trish!

Same here. I would rather Olivia went out, but more than anything Trish must be saved.
Even more prudent would have been to wait until tomorrow, but I'm not patient enough and those votes were burning a hole in my pocket.

ErinAndTonic · 09/11/2023 12:46

Dumb question - I've not voted yet, is it an app for the free votes or online?

Second dumb question - is the live stream on ITV2?

I'm away from the TV to check..

Thesearmsofmine · 09/11/2023 13:01

Team Trish here, I think she has a good moral compass and has been given a bad deal in the house. I felt so bad for her last night because it must feel awful to have it confirmed that people are talking about you behind your back and having to continue to live with them in that house. It was nice to see her and Jordan together.

My DH dislikes the whole house equally yet he was the one who got me into watching this series.

This. It’s pretty uncomfortable to watch actually.

Quirkyme · 09/11/2023 13:20

@clappyjay

It is.

Doopydoo · 09/11/2023 13:35

On the BB fb page the majority are all voting Trish out and only a few for Chanelle. I would be chucking my votes at Jenkin as he seems the least popular on there after Trish.
