Slightly off topic, but BB says Matty is a "doctor working in geriatrics".
I was trying to figure out how on earth he got leave for this purpose as it's notoriously difficult to take time out of training as a junior doctor unless you are between your FY2 year and the start of speciality training however it would be unusual for him to be at this stage of training at just 24.
Couldn't find him on the GMC register, but could find an article naming him as a high achiever from his sixth form and that he went on to med school.
So...with the timing of when he went to med school, I think he must have finished med school this year and decided to take a year out before starting FY1, however this confused me because of the statement that he "works in geriatrics".
Went down the rabbit hole and actually think he's worked as a HCA in a nursing home, likely to help fund himself throughout med school, rather than worked as a doctor on a geriatric ward.
I realise this all seems like I'm nit picking, but it feels disingenuous to me to announce yourself as a doctor to the nation, when you haven't actually practised as a doctor yet.
What do others think?
