Bamboleo is appropriately joyful for Krishnan but a bit fast and bouncy for a middle aged man with no dance or sport history.

That's the problem isn't it?

Can you really judge say Krishnan and Layton on a level playing field?

Also the closing move to Karim's jive. (Which to my inexpert eye didn't appear nearly so well executed but got 40 - I'm prepared to believe that it stuck better to jive steps).

That’s what annoyed me about Layton’s jive, the flashy stuff isn’t strictly taught/learnt!

There were loads more in there — just on a quick watch I spotted everything jive-y Layton did, plus a link and whip, American spin, Miami special, stop and go, toe heel swivels, mooch and pat-a-cakes.

In fairness, same-sex couples do tend to do more side-by-side work, but I think Layton's was a bit extreme this week in lack of partnering.

I agree Karim's looked a bit clumsy in places, but it was musicals week so presumably we'd hit "approaching finals hysteria" and associated marking uplift!

I really hope Kai gets someone amazing next year. I keep watching his jive with AJ and he was on fire! Well they both were! He needs someone to show off how good he is!

I’m feeling bad about Adam now as I hadn’t realized that he suffers from rheumatoid arthritis-I said upthread that he looked stiff in the rumba-well, that explains it.

Poor man, he must’ve been battling pain. Even if Angela R. should’ve gone, perhaps Adam is relieved to be out of it?

Kai is 28?!

He and his partner were amazing in BGT. I think they got to the final, but had to pull out due to injury. I think he came back another year in a group, although I can't remember if they got through to the semi finals.

Kai has an “old” face, in a classic fashion. Bit like the old school Hollywood stars. I mean Clark Gable was only 38 in Gone With The Wind!

Kai has always looked like he hasn't slept for a week, even at 16! He seems like a lovely guy and I can imagine him being pissed off and sad at the thought that he and RAnge got though to next week because Adam was scuppered with a flare-up of RA.

But hey, it's Strictly. Un-level playing fields are built into it.

Having seen those twinkle-toes Kai must be champing at the bit for a bit of speed and energy.

If Adam, who despite his smile looked grey, stiff and exhausted to me, had gone through on Saturday he might’ve dropped out due to ill-health this week. This would have given the producers a massive headache with Amanda having quit already.

He has a lot on his plate with Waterloo Road, rheumatoid arthritis, and a young family. That would be quite tough even without SCD in the mix! He has done well though, and seems like one of nature’s sunny and optimistic characters.

SCD need to be careful with Angela R. She is pretty supple and fit, but they should ensure that she’s eliminated before she sustains an injury. I completely understand why they want this icon of Come Dancing in Blackpool, though. I don’t vote for her but I do “get it”.

Yes, I watched Kelvin’s earlier (after enjoying Danny and Oti’s for the millionth time) and Fleur and Vito was another top scorer I think.

I didn't realise Adam had rheumatoid arthritis. No wonder he looked in pain. I wonder if the producers decided that it was easier if the judges voted Adam off than to put him through, only for him to withdraw.

My older DD said Angela R is “like the kind of granny who slips you £20 when your mum and dad aren’t looking” 😂 so she’s obviously coming across well to younger viewers.

I agree. I'm glad for his sake that he was eliminated. He looked as though he could barely stand, while receiving the judges feedback. It must have been a real challenge, working at his day job, learning to dance and on top of all that, dealing with the rheumatoid arthritis. I hope he gets to rest up a bit now. Will miss him and Luba tbh.

@DontBeAPrickDarren Hmm, I think she must be extremely tough, no choice if she wanted to have a successful career in journalism during the 1960’s/70’s.

She’d have high expectations and I doubt that you’d get any cash out of her easily. But she can win over audiences, she’s good at her job! 🤣
