Loved Ellie. She can really dance and is improving so much each week. Just seems a lovely person too. Vito had been my star pro this year - fun happy enthusiastic (extremely!)
Angela R is a bit dull and that dance wasn’t great. Bit fed up of Kai this year too sadly as always had soft spot for him. Then “oh we’re running” comments going up to claudatorium are cringe now. I’m sure we never hear what anyone else is saying. Also she looked stern when receiving the judges comments. I got impression she expected to be praised lots and was annoyed when realistic feedback was given.
Angela S - it wasn’t good. She seems to have got a bit lost in the the comp as my expectation for her were high and it’s never quite there. I think she’s struggling with the negative feedback also and thought she’d do better. Although her personality doesn’t gel with me (comes off a tad fake to me) I do commend her on keeping jovial and not looking upset/angry with her comments week on week.
Nigel is a bit forgettable for me which is odd as he had quite a big build up in launch show (in terms of people taking to him as the sexy man role blah blah). O feel he should be better than he is.
Bobby is cringe. Can’t stand way he draps hands over dianne. He’s awkward looking when he dances and I’ve never been a dianne fan (too “plaster smile on” for me). I don’t like the pairing at all.
Adam I like he clearly uses smiling as a protective mechanism also. I thought he shouldn’t have been in DO last week and really hope he gets a bounce this week and escapes.
Layton is annoying me because I’m seriously going off Nikita and I thought he was brilliant before. They just look like always doing same stuff cartwheels flips spins etc. we know he can do all that but can he Ballroom Dance? Can he Latin dance? I’d love a totally paired back routine focusing on technique not “laytonising it”. His reply to Craig was embarrassing he clearly didn’t know what he was meaning and took it for a more sexualised or/and dress on which side thing when clearly Craig was asking about dominant side and was going to mention something relevant to that.
Annabel was great I loved her cc. I don’t consider that the usual shoehorned sympathy vote VT either (my dog died, my granny died 20 years ago she was 80 at the time but it’s so hard for me still aka I’ve never thought about her in years but people like a dead nan so I’m mentioning her now). Her grief is new and raw. She’s also never mentioned it once as far as I’m aware on the show so far. She’s not “playing on it” by any stretch of the imagination.
Krishian is great just unexpected in the competition overall but that dance was rubbish! His CC should have been so much more and it fell a bit flat. I like that we are seeing his family as a big supportive unit. I’m reluctant to mention it but the whole “was never happy until did strictly” does make me a little uncomfortable. I think he’s getting at the fact his job is serious and this a new hobby that’s light and joyful. I just always feel a bit sorry for his wife and wider family when he’s going on about it because of that was me I’d be wondering why our family fun times weren’t good enough to elevate the stress of his serious work. Why he never found happiness with us in his non worktimes and he is with dancing. It’s a bit excessive the way he talks about it and I do feel for bis wife especially although they seem a close couple and she seems a big supporter of him.
