That was perfection and the bit with Arnie straight after made it even more so.

PuppyMonkey · 28/10/2023 15:36

Oh I love her. Even more amazing considering her memory is now on its way out. She is wonderful!

AdoraBell · 28/10/2023 15:38

What PuppyMonkey said.

garlicandsapphires · 28/10/2023 15:43

Incredible. Magical!
anyone know what the sonnet is?
it speaks to me but I need to read it now

Errolwasahero · 28/10/2023 15:43

she is a remarkable and wonderful woman.

Also underlines that he was meant to be spoken, not read.

I didn't realise she was losing her memory. I thought she was losing her sight.

PerkingFaintly · 28/10/2023 16:00

Thank you so much for sharing this.

Can someone please record Dame Judi doing a collection of Shakespeare's sonnets RIGHT NOW!

I feel I need this in my life.

One day we will lose her, and it will be so hard.

LookItsMeAgain · 28/10/2023 16:01

What I really like is when Shakespeare wrote those sonnets, he simply numbered them. Some people when they write a poem they give their final work a name. Not good old William, numbers were enough for him 😁

In her interview with Louis Theroux she said that she could recall all of the Shakespeare she ever learned in school, took part in or worked on such is her memory. She’s a complete dote. 🥰🥰🥰😘😘

catwithflowers · 28/10/2023 16:01

Just beautiful. Thank you for sharing that. ❤️

I don't think so. She has very bad macular degeneration which means she can't see very well but she has previously said she has a photographic memory which - as far as I am aware - doesn't seem to be in decline.

Mrsjayy · 28/10/2023 16:05

Aww I saw this doing the rounds I've not watched yet looks a great episode, she Is a legend.

EarringsandLipstick · 28/10/2023 16:06

Oh thanks Puppy this is gorgeous.

UsingChangeofName · 28/10/2023 16:08

I mean the delivery is wonderful. Still, even at her age.

But - oh, how I would love to be able to remember things like that.

mizu · 28/10/2023 16:10

Loved this - thank you for sharing Star

billycat321 · 28/10/2023 16:12

I love watching her on Youtube when she performed Send in the Clowns. Superb.
She didn't sing but said the words with an orchestral backing. The best version of that song EVER.

ReviewingTheSituation · 28/10/2023 16:13

It was a great episode. The 4 guests all worked so well together. It's worth watching the whole thing. When Jay Blades took his hat off it was genuinely moving.

HughCanoe · 28/10/2023 16:15

Yes it was fabulous television. Arnie's so witty. But Jay Blade, poor man - glad he's doing well.
