I completely agree, I think it was really mature of Hallie to include Farida in the conservation like that.

I don't think Hallie was being overly defensive or aggressive in any way with how she handled Farida's questions. You could tell she felt uncomfortable and wanted to shut down any talk of her being a man but I think that's fair enough because she identifies as a woman. No matter what you think about that, it's her right to feel how she feels. she's only 18 at the end of the day, and no 18 year old is able to handle themselves with complete composure when they feel they are being challenged! But even if she was being defensive - can you hardly blame with the current divisive nature of transgender conversations and culture wars. She has probably had lots of abuse and intentionally offensive comments and there is probably a lot of trauma around that.

I think it's unfair of people on here to say that judging from that conversation they think she's going to be really difficult and that all she wants to do is talk about being transgender. Farida was the one asking her the questions, Hallie didn't bring it up (as far as we know from the editing). And I think it's fair that she wanted to talk to others about how she'd felt uncomfortable about it. She wasn't bad mouthing Farida and she openly said that she understood that Farida didn't mean any offence.

I feel very sorry for Hallie. She seems to genuinely believe that post surgery she'll be just like other women and heterosexual men will be attracted to her. Validating the fantasy has set this young person up for a lifetime of unhappiness.

Her problem is she's just too tall. She has a pretty face and I'm sure straight men will find her attractive, but the vast majority will be too concerned about their mates seeing them with an obvious transwoman to take it forward.

I feel like things were easier for transwomen in the Nadia era. There are more people prepared to vocalise their thoughts, that transwomen are men, than there were then.

Sorry how tall is too tall for a woman? What is the acceptable range please? Is Gwendolyn Christie too tall? Should we let her husband know?

I hope Hallie knows that any man embarrassed by her isn't good enough for her anyway. Limited dating pool? Maybe... But then that's true for any who's "too tall" or "too old" or not "the right shape." People get by. I'm sure she knows - she's got a good head on her shoulders :)

The problem isn't height. The problem is that Hallie is a man. Straight men do not find men attractive. If Hallie thinks that there's going to be a queue of straight men waiting to date him before or after having surgery, Hallie is deluded, but then Hallie believes men can be women by just declaring that they are, so yes, that is delusion. Others do not have to play along and that causes annoyance and screams of transphobia.

Hallie is identifiable as trans in other ways than her height. Even in her intro video when her height isn't shown, she came over as a gay man because of the content of what she was saying. It took me about 30 seconds to realise.

It was a combination of things.

But the big point is that this idea of 'passing' is clearly utter bollocks - in part being 'being trans' covers a wide range of 'stages'.

And we need to be honest about this rather than doing the whole 'emperors new clothes' routine.

I worked with man that transitioned to a female and it was very obvious it was basically a man in a dress. Hands, Adam's apple everything there was no way around it despite having surgery to change the below parts.

Ended up she had a relationship with a woman as men were not attracted to what was essentially a man.

She said she fancied men but they were just not interested.

Farida's questions were fine and just what people would wonder if they don't know and were not intended to be mean. I think Hallie will be in for a shock ....

I really dislike Hallies voice. Irritating.
I don't like any of the accents in there.

Im enjoying it but agree about their voices actually - they're all quite irritating in their own unique way!

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor I also thought Hallie was gonna go on a rant about Farida. I think this was unfair of her as she did say to everyone to ask questions if they wanted to know anything, and Farida was doing just that.
