"Your call is important to us. Please hold. You are held in a queue." Automated phrases such as these make even a saint's blood boil, because we're increasingly frustrated by our treatment at the hands of call centres - particularly overseas ones. Yes, we know it's not the fault of the person on the other end of the line, but the system just makes us so MAD! Although it eavesdrops on a few four-letter-word-punctuated complaints from British consumers, this enlightening documentary mainly looks at call centres from the staff's point of view: how they're trained, what they have to deal with and how excited the new recruits at a South African centre are about their jobs. It might stop you being rude next time you're put on hold. Then again, it might not.
