The only question is can I tolerate his over the topness and being such an obviously ringer or will it ruin this season?

For me, it will just be another typical "Ringer-But-Disliked-By-The-Public" scenario. Layton will not get many votes from the public but the judges will keep him in.

He will get to the final. He will not win. There will be endless FB rows about him and his previous dance experience.

I remember the chaos when Ashley Roberts was in it. It'll be the same with Layton.

I don't think that Leyton will spoil the season. It's a very likeable cast I'm rooting for 5 of them which is unheard of for me.

He will however be kept in week after week by judges who will voice amazement as to why he's there.

It really should be the bottom one out
How different the shows would have been the last few years if they hadn't introduced ' the dance off' ! Entirely different shows I guess

I'm going to call it now... Bobby's going to win. He was so winsome and very likeable, plus I think he's getting on with Di already.

Personally I think Bobby is being way overhyped. I would have preferred someone else from Eastenders. He's only been there two minutes.

Aside from the expected (good and bad- Les, Layton etc) I thought SlebNikita wasn't very good, stompy and out of step. Nigel better than I expected. A OTW.

They’ve only done a group dance! We haven’t seen him learn a routine and perform for us and the judges. You do understand that learning a new dance routine each week is the concept of the show?

It's that drag-type hips out dance that I don't like from some men, it's just not how a man naturally moves. It's very "Ah ha women you have no power, I can put my hips out like you do and be sexy"... 🤢

I’m the opposite - I thought I was going to like him but really didn’t warm to him at all last night. Watching him and Dianne together is like Strictly on speed. However, I’ve never been a fan of her or her choreography. He didn’t seem as good as I’d thought he would be in the group dance either.

I’m desperate for Layton to go early but will have to resign myself to the fact that he won’t. Might watch on catch-up so I can fast forward everything he does.

I think the judges votes alone get you about halfway through the series, after that, if you don't get any audience votes, you're at risk of leaving. However he'll be the one saved in the dance off every time. So I fear he'll be in it until musicals week.

If Nikyton (as opposed to Gorkita!) are in it until musicals week, will they do something from one of the ones Layton has starred in or something completely different? I’d definitely prefer the latter…

Exactly what I thought. Can’t decide yet if Bobby’s going to be fun to watch or too gauche and slightly annoying. Hopefully the former. Looks like a good year anyway, not counting Les, who should by rights go mercifully quickly, and Angela Rippon.

I quite fancy watching Angela. Les was terrible but I'm not sure he'll be the plucky tryer who stays in. I think the girl from BBC Asian Network will go out first, mainly because she was a bit forgettable apart from.her irritating voice. I'm not sure she has enough of a following to stay in.

I quite like Bobby, I hope he does well. I think Layton has too much dance training. It might not be Latin/ballroom but he’s trained extensively in dance - Centre Pointe, Sylvia Young and Italia Conti and his job involves a lot of dance. I think it’s very unfair. I like to see the dancers get better over the series, not getting 8/9 in the first two weeks just because they’ve already had a lot of dance training.

I feel for Les Dennis a bit, as I noticed he sounded like he was short on oxygen when he was only being interviewed, so I suspect he's going to really struggle just with physical fitness, 'dad-dancing' aside (he seems a lot weaker than Jeremy Vine, who I actually liked).

Within the first few weeks, one or two contestants will move me to tears - and I don’t mean tears of laughter - with their dancing, and then they’ll be my favourite(s). That could even be Layton, I don’t really care about prior dance training, however odd I find it that SCD would book a professional dancer to do the show.

Some people vote for the joke contestants, but I watch it for the dancing. Generally speaking the voting public gets it right most of the time, we always have a brilliant semi-final, which for me is usually better than the actual final.

I thought Les Dennis would be much niftier on his feet as I saw him as one of those old-school “entertainers” who could turn their hand (foot) to anything, but early indications are not good!

I cannot understand how Craig RH is a professional dancer. He has no rhythm amd isn't a natural mover, it's bizarre
