Faye was absolutely hated. She was public enemy no 1 after she laid into Teddy. Many complaints to Ofcom about her.

I know what you mean about the colourism of mixed race people with light eyes, it’s like they are put in a special zone. Ouzy, hot felon, the guy from greys anatomy. I have loads of beautiful mixed race friends and there is something very different which results in often v gorgeous people. Maya Jama I think is of mixed Swedish/Somali decent. Does it make people bad to view them that way? I don’t know. Beauty and race it’s all so complicate and subjective but for most people it’s really not that deep it’s just hot or not. I married different culturally rather than racially but I was always very interested by what was different, and that fascinated me. Same with my friends we are all super diverse (city living) is it appropriative or exoticism because I’m super interested to meet people who’ve grown up eating different food or have different cultural norms? I just think it’s great and a learning process to meet new people.
I realise a lot of it does grow deeper than than that, but for a lot of modern society it’s just not that deep.

I should probably reread that before posting but this is a thread about love island and it’s not that deep!

I think new Ella will split Mitch/Abbey cause Ty and Ella (OG) to argue and then probably move onto talking to Sammie and Scott and have everyone fallen out

Because people liked Teddy. She recieved a lot of backlash and still does on her social media. Arguably she should have been removed, but I don't get this narrative that everyone was fine with what she did and there weren't any complaints.

Jess gave very wise advice to Abi when she was going nuts about Mitchell and Ella2. I've rapidly gone off Abi over her extreme double standards over this. It's all very odd.

I don't think Ella2 is a bombshell at all and literally nothing for Ella1 to worry about. Ty may be many things but he's not stupid and he won't give up his chance to win now.

Poor Amber has yet to grow into her personality. I'm sure if she had any kind of spark about her all the boys would fancy her.

And what wrong with being quiet instead of bubbly and loud? Sanam (who won it with Kai last year) was very quiet and went below the radar and stayed out of dramas.

Tbh, this being the 21st century, I would think the men in the villa would be a bit reluctant to be shown on national TV smooching a 19 year old. She does look very young. Not surprised there’s a wall of pillows in that shared bed.

I thought Amber was quite rude about Scott last night as well, ‘I don’t even LIKE him’. I gave her the benefit of the doubt as perhaps she meant in a romantic way but it didn’t sound like it and any interaction between the two of them is stilted. In fact when Scott said, ‘maybe the public can see our budding friendship’ she just snorted as if to say aye right, what friendship.

It's hard to know whether he's an awful person and we don't see that or if as he's not popular in the villa people don't want to be associated with him (even though he's popular on the outside and they'd realise that after the votes if they thought about it).

It must be the latter as everyone else who has come out has basically said what a nice lad he is. Maybe he has the cheese touch. (Little diary of a wimpy kid reference there 😂)

I agree it's the latter which also supports the group mentality theory discussed upthread. People oftentimes just go with the group thinking and overall view without forming a view for themselves. That may be what's happening with Abi too (though she was enjoying the attention) and maybe new Ella. I hope not though. She will know that he's very popular on the outside though

At movie night, Leah directed her comment straight to Amber, ‘didn’t he try it with everyone and NO ONE wanted him’ and Amber laughed and said yeah. So that’s obviously who they got it off.

That’s why I’m not fussed if he didn’t give her the nicest speech, (not that it was even horrible, all he said was that she wasn’t his first choice, and she’s said the same thing, even more often and loudly, so 🤷‍♀️)

@PicturesOfDogs and Amber saying that is a lie as the other casa girls have confirmed. Gabby said she wanted to get to know him but he said he felt uncomfortable flirting as he liked Catherine. So the narrative is untrue and damaging but also just unkind.
