Can you give specific examples of her aggressiveness and how it differs from Jess for example who has had multiple shouting matches

Jess comes across pretty aggressive yes.

I'm also wondering if you're watching the same programme. Leah was nasty to Scott first, imagine if one of the boys had said well it's only as no one wanted you- there'd be carnage! That's when he said she's been quiet for weeks or whatever it was, which isn't even that bad of a comment compared to everything else. When he watched the video with Catherine in he didn't get angry or start insulting the girls did he, he took that better than they took his video in which nothing really happened. Everyone in the villa is pretty nasty to him it's horrible to watch, Catherine has said some horrible things to him- why not just come back from casa and say I had a better connection with someone else, its horrible.

He didn't just make that comment to Leah, he was actually swearing, which in itself is an aggressive action. But it's obv some people get a pass

Like I said earlier, if no one in the villa likes him, then maybe he's not likeable. I doubt Cat would be able to influence how the boys feel about anything or anyone

Is it not weird that leah seems more annoyed with Scott than with Montel given that he'd lied to her and she didn't know he'd kissed and did whatever it was in the bed with him? Seems odd to me.

Yes that's odd, but it's a Leah and Montel issue. Maybe she's naive or a bit of a doormat, I dont know. Leah did give Sammy a harder time, so it's not like she was targeting Scott

littlehattie · 09/07/2023 23:19

@AussieKoala Catherine is consistently dismissive of Scott. She speaks over him when he tries to talk. She gives him dirty looks. She's derogatory about him and when talking to him. When the girls were all around the fire pit discussing him in this evenings episode she said "anyway, ANYWAYYYY" to move the conversation away from him in a way that intimated he's irrelevant and didn't warrant talking about.

When she came back from casa she was rude to Scott at the recoupling. When Leah was having her chat with Scott she told Montel to just go and get Leah as it was pointless as they would never be friends. Again, underhanded remark about Scott which was apparent from the context of the situation.

She is consistently horrid to him and it's as if she thinks she's better than him. At the movie night she was saying the only reason he didn't move on in casa is because no one wanted him not because he's loyal. She essentially wants to be vindicated for her actions but is disrespecting him in the process rather than trying to see where he's coming from and allowing him space to voice his feelings.

It's as if she's worried that if his feelings are validated by her or anyone else she will come across badly to the public so she is trying to minimise anything he says and make him look like the bad guy. It's horrible to watch and I am concerned for his mental health.

She does not seem like a nice person and I cannot stand watching her on my tele

littlehattie · 09/07/2023 23:22

On aftersun they were discussing the way Catherine interacts with Scott and one of the guests said she seems to have "ancestral hate for Scott, did he karate kick her?" It is quite clear for all to see that she has a disdain for Scott and treats him accordingly

AussieKoala · 09/07/2023 23:06

How has she been aggressive????
Quelle surprise, here's that word being selectively used again against a black woman.

You might not like the fact she didn't apologise to Scott, but she has definitely not been aggressive.

I actually hesitated about using that word knowing how it can be interpreted! Maybe it's the edit, but she seems to have been unrelentingly hostile towards him. And yes, maybe there's a good reason and we've not been shown it. 🤷‍♀️

How is any of this aggressive?

And how does it compare with Jess who's had several actual shouting matches?

Scott was speaking to Leah and swore. That's aggressive.

You clearly do not like her, I've noticed you make multiple negative comments (over several days ) about how . However that doesn't mean she's a nasty or aggressive person.

Hostile and aggressive are different things

Many islanders have been hostile to someone else, but only one is called aggressive.

I'm watching Jess shouting (again) and Sammy actually asked her to shop shouting. But she's not aggressive?
Quelle surprise

littlehattie · 09/07/2023 23:25

@AussieKoala it's the delivery of all of it that has been aggressive

Rollergirl11 · 09/07/2023 23:26

I genuinely don’t understand why the Scott hatred from the other islanders. He’s absolutely gorgeous and a really lovely guy. Him lashing out at Leah came from a place of feeling humiliated. I said just yesterday that I can see him leaving and I think it even more so now.

Waiting for specific examples of actual aggression because what you've described is at best mean girl behaviour

"ancestral"? Bloody hell. Are people annoyed she chose a black man over a white man?

Otherwise I'm not understanding the ott hate for Catherine. She did Scott dirty but FFS it's love Island. Where is this energy for the other dirty dogs that are on and have been on Love Island?

Even BooHoo has jumped on the Catherine hate train. It's disproportionate

This

littlehattie · 09/07/2023 23:30

@PerfectYear321 when he said ancestral I think he meant very deep seated that it goes far back because it's disproportionate based on such a short time

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 09/07/2023 23:30

I loved the last section on Aftersun where they had Whitney and lochan (sp?) on. They seemed so natural and happy together. I already loved Whitney before but since she is with him she's so happy. They genuinely seemed really like a normal happy couple. Not conscious of the camera (well they must have been but didn't show it) and just really into each other. Would love them to win.

PerfectYear321 · 09/07/2023 23:30

Faye is on Aftersun FFS. She was the very definition of aggressive and got treated with kid gloves

Thank you!

Same ones who were saying how Scott couldn't like Cat and no chemistry bla bla...and now she's the worst villain for going with someone whom she felt actually liked her.

She's not my fave islander but there is def a whiff of something funny going on.

She was literally the most aggressive islander ever. They also made sure they kept her in for a redemption arc but you can't really forget that behaviour. Funnily enough though, in her season lots of islanders said she was really lovely

Rollergirl11 · 09/07/2023 23:34

Oh yeah and Sammy pulling Jess after Movie night and the first words out of his mouth were “don’t blow it out of proportion” before she’d even said anything. What a prick.

HeddaGarbled · 09/07/2023 23:34

No she didn’t. There was a huge public outcry and she got a warning and had to apologise.

littlehattie · 09/07/2023 23:34

@AussieKoala in response to your comment that I don't seem to like Catherine, that is correct. I believe I've said so in those exact terms before. At the start of the season I liked her and then went to not minding her as she didn't seem to bring much by way of personality but I found her inoffensive. At this point her behaviour has been quite consistently horrid and I now do not like her

Mapples · 09/07/2023 23:35

It's her behaviour, she didn't just come back and say I've met someone I connect better with, she has been horrible to him and about him to others. I know you're implying everyone who isn't a huge fan of her behaviour are nasty little racists but I am black and it is perfectly possible to dislike black women due to their behaviour without anything else going on. Plenty of people have also been critical of jess, I agree with you she comes across as genuinely pretty aggressive.
