The acting between Ashley and the bishop was so good. They just don't do those kind of scenes any more.

I loved the jumble sale as well. It looked so realistic down to the sold sign on the basketball hoop!

Watching this makes you realise how shit it is nowadays - the storylines, most of the acting, the awful block filming.
I could go on ......

How much longer for Sadie's downfall? It must have seemed forever when it was two episodes a week.

JaneJeffer · 11/03/2024 14:14

If only Zoe and Charity had stayed together

Jack is fairly getting his kicks blocking Jimmy on the road

Why doesn't Charity just record the audio onto a cassette tape?

What house has the Classic vicarage become in current Emmerdale-land?
I'm guessing there's no longer a house that goes with the job (unheard of) as Charles has lived elsewhere?

JaneJeffer · 11/03/2024 16:55

It's where the new doctor's surgery is @RaraRachael

Was the original vicarage burnt down with the church? I remember it being a large detached house.

JaneJeffer · 12/03/2024 00:00

It seems it was just sold. It was probably part of the village they used to film in before they built the replica. I remember the church being completely different at that time. Lovely house. It says here that Brook Cottage (the doctor's now) went on fire in 2005 but it says 2006 elsewhere.

@JaneJeffer the church is Saint Cathy's tea rooms, isn't it?
I spend too long wondering about the houses.
Ray owned a few properties but seems Louise didn't inherit them.
He was the Daggert's landlord, but somehow Ollie's grandad owns it.
Anyway, back to the plot. I loved the Charity and Zoe reminiscing scene and their hug.
I thought Charity had a set of the photos, poor Debbie seeing that!

RaraRachael · 12/03/2024 10:57

@JaneJeffer and@bizzey exactly the same in my part of Scotland.

My dad would say, "You know the laddie Thomson who lived at Burnside Farm?"
Me - thinking he meant some young lad - "No I don't think I do"
Turns out the "laddie" was at school with my dad so was now in his 70s.

The worse I had was when I was SEN teaching at a local school and we had a concert. Two old ladies behind me talked continually throughout sorting all the kids into families. Talking of me Lady 1- "Who's that lassie in front of us?"

Lady 2 - "Oh that's Mrs Cowie's daughter. She teaches the backward bairnies, same as her mother used to do"

That was me summed up 😓
