The Cindy thing is odd as it was months of speculation about her big arrival from back from the dead and now they have left her and Ian hanging a bit
The pie shop will clean up now the cafe has gone and bound to be no money around to do that up , dunno what Kathy will do tbh and the insurance probably won't pay out etc.
maybe Ian will step in or something, but they haven't much money either unless Dean goes in with them to do up the cafe ? He seems to have money !

Aside from everything else ludicrous about Rocky's idea to burn the cafe down, he clearly has NO idea how long it can take insurance companies to pay out!!

When did New head Peter become a graphic designer? I was surprised at this as no idea what his job was before , but not that

Previous Head Peter was a personal trainer , I don't know what qualifications he had for that but that never stops them.

SuperSonia went seamlessly from being a Ward Nurse to a Practuce Nurse (and is so good at keeping the residents of The Suare healthy she just does the odd consultation in the street but rarely bothers to turn up at The Panesaar Family Practice )

Sharon went from running a bar to running a gym (successful by the looks of it)

Kathy Beale ran a knitwear stall back in the day , now runs the Cafe and The Albert (a few shifts in the Vic and The Dagmar was obviously training enough)

In the Classic Eastenders , Ian is fobbing Bobby off onto Gary to babysit as much as he can saying "Oh he likes spending time with you , there's a bond " .Then in the next breath saying Oh I got the DNA results , I;m his Dad

Gary has told him to do one to protect himself and Bobby ( not because Ian is an utter CF which is nearer the truth)

When he was with Bobby , Gary was telling him he was named after Bobby Moore and one day he would be a great footballer . (fitting that in round murdering his sister , going to prison and being an utter wimp )

70s! I had forgotten so much of this, but watching the old episodes must be good fun. I forget they put them on tbh.
I had also forgotten that Peter worked at the gym too, when he was with Lauren I think ?
Most business owners are knee deep in paperwork usually , but they rarely show this side either. Plus getting a job is a job in itself these days , yet they take on anyone on a whim on EE without any kind of process or even an NI number!

The Panesar Surgery hardly ever features. I remember in the old days of Dr Legg, the residents were always popping in to see him but I suppose now Ash has left they don't have a doctor. Sonia is always 'checking people over' for the various accidents on the Square - the other day when Kathy had an electric shock, Sonia pronounced her fine. I thought you would need an ECG after an electric shock like that but she's probably got one of those machines in her bag too 😆.

Sonia is never at work. In fact, the only one who seems to do a full shift at work is Bernie.

So many missed opportunities for gossip in the GP waiting room. Eastenders is so unrealistic - it has its ownGP practice that no one ever complains about!

I guess now Bernadette is out of a job in the Cafe, the overheard gossip storylines will need a new location...

Bernadette really is the worst character in the series now. She makes Ken look good.

I don't mind Bernie , her friendship with Patrick and the other man who taught her chess that time was nice ( can't remember who it was now , the one who played the vet in all creatures great and small in the 70s)
She is a gossip, but , let's be fair , there is plenty to talk about in that place

Regarding Priya there was some speculation she was going to be Eve's next girlfriend....
But that would be a step too far.
But Priya will soon find out about Suki and Eve and tell Nish no doubt.
At a guess she overhears something.

Yes, it would be much more realistic for the residents not to be able to get an appointment at the Panesar surgery. They must use the NHS when they get ill, but get diagnosed and treated in record time and always get a private room with no restrictions on visitors.

Same time Denise became a hairdresser!

No training courses for Denise ( who has also disappeared with Raymond for about a month !)
It took someone I knew a few years to qualify to cut hair etc , it's a long old process done properly

Ahh now Ted (Father Dougal Voice) Denise has a GCSE in English Lit

Anyone who picks up a pair of scissors =Hairdresser
Just like anyone who can pick up a spanner=Instant Mechanic .
And able to work on high end motors that people bring in to The Arches rather than going to the nearest Car Dealership where they probably bought their car and it's still under warranty .

What happened to ruby? Was she pregnant and why did she go to prison?

She was pregnant with Martin’s baby and wanted Stacey out of the picture. She was jailed for pushing Stacey down a stairs.

I enjoyed today’s episode, but I can’t get invested in Kathy and the fire story since it’s unlikely Kathy will go to prison.

And I realised that I prefer EE with no misery guts Stacey in it.

why did Stacy go to prison did Ruby say she pushed her instead of the other way round I recall Ruby saying she'd miscarried as well.

@Southeastdweller yes Stacey can be annoying at times. I can't get over the sheer stupidity of Keanu and the fact at the start Karen supported him. How on earth did he think Albie would feel about him when he grew up, no money , living abroad?
he was also starting to see him regularly anyway, Abu Dhabi was only for a year.

I think Stacey went to prison because ruby lied that she was pushed down the stairs

But then Jean took revenge and after getting caught selling Big Mos weed and making lots of money, she told the police ruby was behind it all to drive drugs at the club

I'm pretty sure that's what ruby ended up going to prison for

But was preggers with martins baby unbeknownst to him so that will clearly come back at some stage!
