I've watched the first 2 episodes and I'm enjoying it so far.

Do these weird little villages exist where menopausal women can rock up and find themselves through the eyes of Jerome Flynn? I'm up for it if soSmile

5foot5 · 21/06/2023 23:12

I also enjoyed the first two.

Does anyone know where it is meant to be, where it is filmed?

Also loving the sound track.

Defiantlynot41 · 21/06/2023 23:15

Haven't watched it yet, it was filmed in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire

MeOldBamboo · 21/06/2023 23:50

This is superb! Totally identify with Linda. How brilliant to put this over so well with humour and a superb cast. Enjoying episode 2 now.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/06/2023 10:08

Just about to do a thread but saw yours

I liked but I'm easily pleased as many know on tv

ClaribelLowLieth · 22/06/2023 13:24

I'm so excited about this - maybe TOO excited!
I'm imagining Detectorists crossed with Jerusalem - but funny and with women. It sounds soo good!

Won't get to watch till next week but keeping an eye out for reviews and comments

fatherfurlong · 22/06/2023 17:05

Just caught the last half last night but all the signs are good- great cast, characters, setting, premise.

TyneTeas · 22/06/2023 17:27

I loved the list of conditions she thought she had at the Doctor's

And the birthday toast from her DH was, well!

It is not like Dectectorists.

LaylaLjungberg · 22/06/2023 18:38

I’ve binged it. I absolutely loved it.

TitsInAbsentia · 22/06/2023 20:42

I was really worried it would be really twee but it was bloody hilarious and touching...won't say too much more until people have seen it.

Annasgirl · 22/06/2023 21:49

Oh I just watched episode 1 and hoped to find a thread. I love it. I’m planning to binge watch - if I can manage to get a room to myself in a house of teens and a preteen!!

MaudGone · 22/06/2023 23:53

The small town she motorcylced through looked like Cinderford.

'The Singing Detective' is another interesting programme partly filmed in the Forest of Dean.

WarmBeerAndSandwiches · 23/06/2023 04:03

Absolutely loved it. I binged the lot!

Defiantlynot41 · 23/06/2023 08:08

Waves to @MaudGone - definitely Cinderford, and the cafe is in Chepstow (although not an actual cafe, they used an empty shop)

Defiantlynot41 · 23/06/2023 08:10

::: and The Salt Path (by Raynor Winn) is being filmed in Chepstow now - Gillian Anderson is starring in it

LittleMonks11 · 23/06/2023 08:32

I paused it and dragged my hubbie in to watch the bit where she lists her ailments to the GP. Best scene so far (only watched one). I put my hand up for each item in her list!! Love the supporting cast!

BettySundaes · 23/06/2023 08:50

Binge watched it all - really enjoyed it.

NeverendingCircus · 23/06/2023 18:29

I'm imagining Detectorists crossed with Jerusalem - but funny and with women. It sounds soo good!

@ClaribelLowLieth - brilliant! That's pretty much exactly what it is.

Popcorn121 · 23/06/2023 21:48

I had only ever seen BC on the odd panel show where I found her unfunny and on the annoying side, so wasn’t expecting much from this. I was pleasantly surprised, funny, well written and brilliant characters. Am halfway through and will watch the rest this weekend.

NeverendingCircus · 23/06/2023 22:38

I binge watched the whole thing and really enjoyed it. Very different. I love Susan Lynch and Monica Dolan in everything they do. They were a brilliant double act in this. Jim Howick was good, but they kind of dropped Paul Whitehouse's character in the final episode which was a bit odd. I thought it ended too soon. I wanted to know how it would resolve.

RoseBucket · 25/06/2023 15:38

Half way through and really laughing out loud at some of it, it’s disturbing the dog.

MurielThrockmorton · 25/06/2023 18:21

I'm not really getting this. I've watched three episodes. There are some bits I smile at such as the husband sitting there out of loo roll, but the storyline as a whole just seems odd. Looks like I'm in a minority though, what am I missing?!

user1471556818 · 25/06/2023 20:37

Really enjoying this so far as is hubby

OytheBumbler · 25/06/2023 22:11

I've watched the final episode. I enjoyed it on the whole but it did start to feel a bit preachy. As a menopausal woman I shouldn't complain but I think there could've been more subtlety about it.
