My DH put this on earlier and I was a bit 🙄as I’ve never been a massive fan of Alan Carr.

It is wonderful. So funny. The lad that plays the young Alan is amazing, so talented and plays the part brilliantly.

I’m not often hooked on tv shows but this is great and I don’t want it to end!!

Yes I'm loving it. And you're right the kid playing young Alan is an amazing actor. A comic genius in the making!

GoodnightJude1 · 04/06/2023 17:14

Loving this too. I’m a similar age to AC so a lot of the period detail is very relatable. It’s a very reassuring comforting watch.

What channel is this on

Cheguevarahamster · 04/06/2023 21:17

the80sweregreat · 04/06/2023 22:05

I can't believe that he had his voice down to a T
It was uncanny
What a find

AnyaMarx · 04/06/2023 22:13

I loved it too . So funny . The kid playing young Allan has him to a T ! I love that his drama teacher was so wonderful with him too - he was clearly very different from an early age and in a wonderful way! Loved it - and loved his family too .

LizzieSiddal · 04/06/2023 22:16

Haven’t watched this but will do. I saw him doing stand up before he was really famous, and he was hilarious.

AuntieSoap · 04/06/2023 22:18

It's hilarious. Such an easy, witty, feel-good watch. And brilliantly cast.

the80sweregreat · 04/06/2023 22:19

I read his first autobiography and he didn't really mention school much.
(Not sure about his other books though)
It was so good and cheered me up. It was nice not hearing any swearing and was gently funny
I loved the dinner ladies
His dad was a football manager.

Heliotroper · 04/06/2023 22:30

If this was not true story I think the pitch would have been turned down as too ridiculous.

I love the relationship with his dad, especially when he starts watching Dynasty and almost gets into it.

the80sweregreat · 04/06/2023 22:49

If it was that young lady singing in the final episode, she was brilliant
What a voice !

His dad managed my local (then) team. Good chap!

the80sweregreat · 04/06/2023 22:57

The actor playing his dad was great. So calm amongst all the other drama

GoodnightJude1 · 05/06/2023 08:33

I’m glad so many other people have been enjoying it too! I hope the young Alan goes on to do more wonderful things!

I binged it, absolutely loved it!

The lad who plays young Alan Carr is incredible.

the80sweregreat · 05/06/2023 08:57

The young Alan is brilliant
No idea how old he is, but he is better than many child actors around and so natural!
I loved when his mum said to his dad
' don't talk about football in front of two women and Alan !' Lol

tennissquare · 05/06/2023 21:35

It's really funny and the boy playing Alan (Oliver Savell) is a star in the making.
It's on ITVX.

AnyaMarx · 05/06/2023 23:15

I'm hoping there's a follow up .....

Shwingbada · 06/06/2023 19:06

Is this suitable for a 12 year old, do you think? Thanks
