He looked back at the hospital from the car park so it must be!!

He had such a good start and such potential… and seemed to have left with a whimper…

LIZS · 02/03/2024 22:09

Was that Max's big exit?

Seems to have been.
Saw this on the official Twitter feed earlier
“It’s time for Max Cristie to bid farewell to the E.D We will miss you, Nigel Harman”

mayorofcasterbridge · 03/03/2024 23:14

It was really shit!! What kind of a person accepts their child's kidney and then fucks off without so much as a bye-your-leave?!!

purpleme12 · 03/03/2024 23:15

A pretty shit person that's what!

xSideshowAuntSallyx · 04/03/2024 07:02

Realistically would Max be allowed to go to Sudan so soon after having a transplant? Is Dylan running the ED again now that Stevie is also suspended and Max gone? Where's Donna, her 6 months must be up now (she'd be out in 3 for good behaviour)?

Saying that putting Jacob as a paramedic has been great, gives Iain a friend.

Hellocatshome · 04/03/2024 07:31

Realistically most of what happens in Casualty wouldn't happen. I thought Max was starting to be a nice guy but obviously not.

Whenwillglorioussummercome · 04/03/2024 07:39

Strictly called. Almost as perilous as South Sudan. He’ll be back.

spiderlight · 04/03/2024 08:35

It was a lousy ending for him in so many ways! Really shitty for Jodie and totally unrealistic that he'd be able to swan off to South Sudan straight after major surgery.

Donna's not coming back - that was confirmed when she was sent to prison. Siobhan is her replacement.

I really don't think he will be.
They've said that's it he's gone (I mean the Casualty people)

UsernameChangerRanger · 04/03/2024 09:04

I've said it before and I'll say it again, NHS sick leave and notice periods doesn't exist in Holby.

Sorry, I was dashing off that reply. I don’t mean that it’s a planned absence but I reckon they’ll make efforts to get him back and there’s a good chance he’ll do it.

That might of course be wishful thinking based on his white t shirts.

No one's ever gone forever from Casualty unless they're dead.

LIZS · 04/03/2024 11:46

No one's ever gone forever from Casualty unless they're dead. and not even then, Cal and Felicia reappeared in Ethan's dreams! Did Duffy not make a ghostly appearance too?

Whenwillglorioussummercome · 04/03/2024 11:54

I bet she pops up to welcome Charlie into Holby heaven.

I’ve just seen the remarkable news that Derek Thompson has been snapped up to act in something else already. Talent will always out.

AGoodDayForSomebodyElseToDie · 04/03/2024 12:26

He told Dylan and Jodie the Sudan placement wasn’t for 3 months - still probably unreasonably short after a kidney transplant, but he’s not hopping on a plane today. But I’m baffled as to why they didn’t engineer a slightly less bastardy exit for him. He’s a selfish twit but he never seemed intentionally cruel before.

Unless, of course, Casualty are playing with us and he’ll crop up next week to smooth things over before he actually goes. The wording of that tweet is ambiguous - it could theoretically apply to this week’s episode too. Sadly I doubt it though!

purpleme12 · 04/03/2024 13:49

Mmm I don't know. I mean it fits with how Jodie's seen him for all of her life doesn't it

LIZS · 04/03/2024 14:51

What happened to Max's mum who engineered a reunion with Jodie to secure the transplant.

purpleme12 · 04/03/2024 14:53

Still at home plodding on presumably.

Well he was pushed to his limits this episide wasn't he? Had loads of lines and different actions to do.

I'd say talent scouts were well impressed 😆.

Apparently Derek Thompson has now got a role in Blue Lights!

You are kidding?! I cannot wait to hear his Irish accent 😂

spiderlight · 05/03/2024 14:52

Oh, apparently he was born in Belfast so it might not be that bad.

MadisonAvenue · 05/03/2024 15:55

I’ve been watching the reruns of Brookside and he appeared in the early episodes as a character from Northern Ireland.
It was strange seeing Charlie with a different accent.

Again lol.

Do we think they're going to kill him off this time? And will Louis his long-forgotten son make an appearance?!!
