Did anyone actually like the slow motion in this week's?
I didn't like the slow motion and don't think it added anything positive to it.
And thought Ian was overreacting in this episode

If it had just been used for Iains bit it would have worked but it went on too long

AGoodDayForSomebodyElseToDie · 06/02/2024 19:08

Yep someone got over-excited with the slow motion. I’ve maintained for years that Casualty is one of the best comedies ever written. It’s just a shame they don’t realise that’s what they’re making. And that slow motion section was an excellent example of it.

I do love it really, honestly 😂

WhatICallMyUsername · 06/02/2024 19:19

So glad other people are mentioning the slow mo! I said to DH it's like they realised they didn't have enough material to fill the episode and couldn't be arsed to find any so just made that 20 second scene last about 20 minutes

And also like when my kids discovered my mobile had a slow mo button, maybe the camera man just found his 🤣🤣🤣

AnImaginaryCat · 06/02/2024 22:49

Slow mo amused me too. Mind you anything with the filming that is slight away from normal makes me raise an eyebrow in a what the what now kind of wat..

Wasn't there an episode where they used a voice over - it almost pushed me over the edge. 😃

I really do love Casualty- but in the way i love my lovely aunty. Love her to bits and her company but she's bonkers and on another planet.

Behind as always

Def something with the necklace and rida and rash

I did feel bad for him that he didn't know what to do with his dad

Where as rida just got on with him

But she had been there all day

Why did she hid the necklace and not gave it back to rash

I did think Harry was beating up his wife. Not the son

Charlie was wrong to not say zero tolerance

But then faith wa since to not went to press charges

Not sure how she is still a nurse with her stealing ans drug addiction

I did think something was going to happen to the man Jerry

Did get confused with Ian and Natalia.

Do they fancy each other or not

daffodilandtulip · 07/02/2024 21:31

I think Ian realised a bit late that she was fancying him @Blondeshavemorefun and tried to make it clear, but the damage is done.

Yes the slo-mo was daft and I felt like Ian was being quite hysterical with the girl. Just calm down man!

I still think the policeman is harming the wife and they'll all get a shock when the "nice policeman" isn't nice.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 08/02/2024 06:34

I don’t think the wife is being abused by her son AND her husband!

I think they’re going to go down the affair with Stevie path for Harry. They’ve given him too much plot for him to be just an extra now, and they’re creating tension between them with her actions.

Wish Faith hadn’t returned at all but, given that she’s back, I wish they’d found her a hairbrush. And that her stint in rehab had taught her to be less judgemental and annoying.

spiderlight · 11/02/2024 00:01

Well that guy's 'being sent home with a head injury and nausea' storyline wasn't obvious from a mile off at all, was it...? I said 'subdural haematoma' as soon as he needed the sick bowl in cubicles.

Kiwano · 11/02/2024 00:09

I was getting somewhat infuriated at the sheer stupidity of Max going down the tunnel, but at least it was a comfort to hear Dylan enunciating what we were all thinking.

UsernameChangerRanger · 11/02/2024 08:09

I think Stevie and Harry are going to have an affair too.
Max is an idiot.
Charlie is now completely pointless and I can't wait for the dramatic exit.
Faith, what is the actual point of her?
Iain is beautiful but stupid.
I loved Iain and Jacob in this episode, they just worked wonderfully together.
Rash and Rida getting together anyone?

Thisisme1234x · 11/02/2024 08:34

Dylan really is a brilliant character, hopefully see more of him again soon.

Kiwano · 11/02/2024 09:52

Does Iain plan to carry on making excuses to avoid giving Natalie lifts for ever? I mean, I know when he finally grasps the nettle and explains to Faith why Natalie is being off Faith is going to go postal and blame him, but that's unavoidable anyway so he may as well get it over with.

This

As soon as he told other bloke he couldn't do the mess I knew max would offer

Him of one kidney and poorly

Madness

AnImaginaryCat · 11/02/2024 13:47

Looking forward to the next episode I'm which Max creates an.extra casualty in a crisis.

He'd fail the basics of a First Responder course 😆

Hellocatshome · 11/02/2024 14:02

I'm glad they mentioned post dialysis high because we thought Max had had a personality transplant at the beginning of the episode.

Also glad despite his ill state Max didn't forget to mention the major hemorrhage protocol.

UsernameChangerRanger · 11/02/2024 14:43

Would he be Max if that wasn't mentioned at least once every episode?

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/02/2024 16:00

Oh the groom /husband died

Didn't expect that. But yah he has a nice new shiney kidney coming

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 12/02/2024 08:01

I am getting really pissed off with Charlie’s smug, holier than thou, bullying of Stevie over her new policy.

When is this exit happening, because it’s overdue by about twenty years.

Citrusandginger · 12/02/2024 09:36

In the real world though, it wouldn't be Stevie's policy. It would be a trust policy owned by the board, which in a practical sense, would mostly be delivered by the nursing team.

Obviously in Casualty though, Drs make policy and Nurses continue to do what they say. Except when the storyline says otherwise.

UsernameChangerRanger · 12/02/2024 09:41

I'm always amazed at the speed they're able to review, write and implement policy change on casualty

spiderlight · 17/02/2024 15:28

I found an ancient episode of Casualty on Drama yesterday (ironically, while stuck on the sofa icing my foot after a stupid accident and trying to decide whether to go to A&E). It was the iconic one where Josh is called to the house fire that kills his entire family, but there were two other patient storylines as well, both quite involved, and very little focus on staff shenanigans. The department was all terribly beige and some of the acting was a bit Acorn Antiques, but it felt as if they packed a lot more into the episode and it was much better seeing the patient stories develop, rather than just being presented with them on a trolley.

ChrisPPancake · 17/02/2024 21:32

I'm being weirded out by the clash of BBC dramas here with Ian Craig from The Archers showing up in ED Grin

UsernameChangerRanger · 17/02/2024 21:34

Is that a McGann brother with Ebola? I'm surprised Dr Turner from Call the Midwife didn't turn up and make the diagnosis.

LIZS · 17/02/2024 21:34

Great patient confidentiality, yelling ebola across ed!
