Chloe the Welsh nurse who got off with a gangster(general criminal?) and ran away with him. Roxy the hapless single mother nurse. Adam the nurse with HIV. Tom the anaesthetist(?!) who stalked Holly. Dan the manager who Tom drugged in his apartment by putting anaesthesia in his whisky and blaming antihistamines…

(ok that last one was quite specific. I’m now all the way down the rabbit hole! They were good times indeed)

The lovely nurse Anna who accidentally fell in love with her brother, then lost both legs in a train crash and died shortly after. I remember they had a different actor playing the brother-boyfriend for the train crash episode and it was weird!

SgtCatherineCawood · 09/09/2023 16:41

Where did Zoe and Max move to? Was it somewhere in America? Maybe she's coming back to convince him to retire and go and live with them 🤣

What!!

I don't remember any of these characters. They were in Casualty?!

Merlin and Anna were definitely in Casualty. I don’t remember the actor changing for the train wreck episodes though.

Merlin had wonderful floppy ringlets and Anna was played by the actor who went on to be the cooking witch, mrs Tapioca, in the Worst Witch (if that helps - it’s a bit niche!). She’s also in The Cleaner with Greg Davies.

He was played by Orlando Seale for his original appearances and then by Sebastian Dunn for the brief train crash return! I remember being baffled for a minute because he had the same hair but was otherwise totally different in appearance.

I remember Merlin….How did he accidentally fall in love with his sister??

purpleme12 · 09/09/2023 18:34

They didn't know.
I think he was adopted.

AGoodDayForSomebodyElseToDie · 09/09/2023 19:07

@unvillage i can see you’re right about it but they look the same to me. I don’t really look beyond the hair, I think!

The very first time those two met (in a cafe, when she'd been stood up and they got chatting), I said 'He's her brother!' My friend thought I was mad but I was spot on (for a change). Such a shame - they were both lovely. Heavens forfend that there be an actual normal happy couple on Casualty though!

daffodilandtulip · 09/09/2023 21:36

My lovely Dylan, his heart broken again.

Changeling78 · 10/09/2023 09:00

I know, bless him 😞
Good bit of acting from Faith, I really felt for her.
I hope Teddy doesn’t turn up at the airport ranting and raving, I hope he supports him.

the80sweregreat · 10/09/2023 09:23

Euthanasia laws should be changed
Losing your job and pension because you want someone to follow through with their own wishes at the end of their life will is just wrong ( it is only my opinion, but I so wished that parliament would vote through some sensible laws around this, but they won't as many MPs have invested interests in very expensive care homes they can charge a small fortune for)

Hellocatshome · 10/09/2023 09:33

I wound understand if she actually administered the fatal drugs but helping him travel to a country where it is legal shouldn't result in the same punishment.

spiderlight · 10/09/2023 11:07

I had no idea that it's illegal to accompany someone to Dignitas until last night. It's so wrong ☹️

ChrisPPancake · 10/09/2023 13:20

Poor Dylan 😢

Technically they are assisting the suicide I think.

It's ridiculous. Someone with a terminal diagnosis and who is of sound mind should be allowed to make that decision without worrying that whoever assist them with, in this case, transport might be prosecuted.

I understand that there need to be rules in place to protect the vulnerable but it's madness.

Kiwano · 10/09/2023 13:30

According to that report:

“A lot of viewers have been tuning in just to see him,“ they said. “This news will be heartbreaking for a lot of viewers"

What utter bollocks. The character just hasn't worked in Casualty. I'm another one who won't be sorry to see him go.

JustDanceAddict · 10/09/2023 13:35

Me too re Dignitas, I thought it was legal to accompany as long as they administer the lethal cocktail.

JustDanceAddict · 10/09/2023 13:36

I mean the accompanying person doesn’t administer

Kiwano · 10/09/2023 13:40

ISTR an unsuccessful legal case around trying to get the Attorney General to give a firm commitment to saying they would not prosecute someone with helping with a trip to Dignitas. But I have a vague feeling the AG came out with some weasel words around saying that they would look at each case on its merits, chances were they wouldn't prosecute in sympathetic cases, they just couldn't give a blanket undertaking never to do so.

If Jan and Donna both end up in the dock and Faith in front of the NMC, and the rest of the staff are busy giving evidence or character references, is there going to be anyone left to run A&E?

D1nopawus · 10/09/2023 16:59

Donna will be up against the NMC too...

And Jan in front of the HCPC.

Just need to get those pesky criminal changes dealt with first.

Except of course, this is casualty, so it will all be forgotten.

FizzingAda · 10/09/2023 17:37

As long as Dylan stays 💖💖💖. (I named my dog after him)

Google just suggested this as a news story I might be interested in.... https://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/strictly-come-dancings-nigel-harman-30904294?int_source=amp_continue_reading&int_medium=amp&int_campaign=continue_reading_button#amp-readmore-target (I don't actually read that paper!)

Is it just me who'll be glad to see the back of him? Character is ok but he's a woodentop imo.

I’ll miss him 🤷🏼‍♀️ But Stevie, Jan, Iain and Dylan are my faves - everyone else can go as long as those four stay.

Charlie. It's all you need.
