I can’t find the BGT thread so starting one here.

Just catching up on tonight’s episode.

The dancing duo were so mediocre. Shame on Bruno for changing his mind, he should have stuck to his original decision.

I think the trouble is after covid there's been quite a lot of misery, I even find it hard now to watch Hollyoaks with the cancer story line, I want light heartedness if that makes sense.

Light heartedness I can agree with.

Insanity I cannot!

TheChosenTwo · 04/06/2023 22:13

Ds and I only watched one episode of this during the week and thought we’d watch the final, I think so many people were robbed - we had no idea what the talent of the winner was? What was his talent?! Other than winning a talent with no discernible talent 😂 thankfully we weren’t invested otherwise I’d be pretty fuming 🤣

MadCatLady27 · 04/06/2023 22:13

Agree about not wanting to be preached to

If Unity for example, had just danced, albeit using the same story, but without the preachy voiceover I'd have preferred them. The preaching just left me cold, and I'm all for homosexuality etc. But I don't want it rammed down my throat.

Fossie · 04/06/2023 22:13

Virgo was very good. Not at all predictable and really professional. You can’t blame a country that votes for Boaty McBoatface.

MadCatLady27 · 04/06/2023 22:16

What a shame it's not available to view. Interesting how they deem this as too political but not Unitys?

I bawled at the Anne documentary so probably would at this too

mum2jakie · 04/06/2023 22:18

We've had years of misery due to covid and now constant reminders about the cost of living crisis. I really wanted to see pants man performing his impression of a naked King Charles but I'll settle for the daft Viggo prancing around in a hi viz jacket instead.

Dunnoburt · 04/06/2023 22:22

You mean a singer or dance act didn't win BGT! 😲

happyinherts · 04/06/2023 22:25

So we've had Covid and a cost of living crisis.... We snub a talented young girl and hail an insane joke act as a winner instead. Sad.

When did a female last win the show?

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 04/06/2023 22:30

OhhhhhhhhBiscuits · 04/06/2023 22:08

I have seen rumours online that all the standing ovations etc...... that were at the auditions for Musa were actually for another act which was a dancing act with a tribute to Hillsborough. This apparently was absolutely amazing, brought everyone to tears and they didn't even show them on the show as it was too political. Any one else heard this?

Yaaa heard about that. But read was Lucy's reaction it was shown on not Musa

happyinherts · 04/06/2023 22:32

Yes quite @LuciferRising I don't know when a female won it. Lilliana definitely deserved better tonight.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 04/06/2023 22:32

Oo % are out..
https://www.itv.com/britainsgottalent/articles/britains-got-talent-2023-voting-percentages-revealed

Quite a gap winning wise

TheLizardQueen · 04/06/2023 22:35

Great result for me, I loved him. He really made me laugh and that’s what it’s all about IMHO

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 04/06/2023 22:40

Semi Final 2 -

  1. Viggo Venn - 43.7%
  2. Johns' Boys - 16.4%
  3. Olivia Lynes - 13.3%

Grand Final -

  1. Viggo Venn - 22.5%
  2. Lillianna Clifton - 13.1%
  3. Cillian O'Connor - 11.8%

Just how?! Mean..Good for him but still...

Flapjacker48 · 04/06/2023 22:50

People are essentially sick of kids and any act which has a sob story attached.

TrustPenguins · 04/06/2023 22:53

Wow, Viggo won by some distance then!

Groutyonehereagain · 04/06/2023 22:55

He made me smile and laugh. Bring it on.

Rowthe · 04/06/2023 22:55

If you look on YouTube.
He does comedy acts.

He did the Comedy club challenge and managed to last the time without getting the gong.

BellatrixLestrangesHeatedCurlers · 04/06/2023 22:56

This country has a great clowning history - Mr Bean, Charlie Chaplin - Viggo is very skilled at modern clowning which isn’t easy to do. He cracks me up.

SesTheBrave · 04/06/2023 23:00

I think it was his semifinal that won it for him. He unexpectedly made people laugh and his humour, though silly, was cleverly improvised in the moment. It was refreshing amongst everything else that was so scripted and expected.

I didn't think his performance this evening was so good but he won Simon over and it was funny and full of joy.

Cillian and Liliana were robbed though and will be trying to work out how he beat them. Hopefully they've done enough to ensure successful futures.

Flapjacker48 · 04/06/2023 23:01

I also think there is a definate fatigue with singers off all types and especially dance groups.

MadCatLady27 · 04/06/2023 23:02

It feels like the tide has definitely turned against sob stories (good)

If I'm BGT bosses for next year all they'd be allowed to say if who they are, where from, what they do and how long they've been doing their act. No sob stories allowed, they're all to be judged purely on their act.

MadCatLady27 · 04/06/2023 23:03

Just watched Lilianas performance again, she was incredible and should have won - I'm sick of the endless dance groups but don't recall many stand out solo dancers

I think they should also consider a kids BGT and an adults one, both winners performing at the royal variety
